    Order of WorshipJanuary 9th, 2010

    Welcome

    Prelude

    Opening of the Word

Call to WorshipThe hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the

Father in spirit and truth. God is Spirit and those who worship Him must

    worship in spirit and truth.

Opening Hymn: Falan-tiding (Out of the Orient CrystalSkies)

    Readings from the Word

    Isaiah 60:2 Luke 2:10, 15-18

    Reading from the Heavenly Doctrines

Apocalypse Explained 80"Fear not" signifies renewal of life; for all who come sudden-

ly from self-life into any spiritual life are at first afraid, buttheir life is renewed by the Lord. This renewal is effected in

this way that the Divine presence, and fear on account of it,

are accommodated to reception. The Lord is present, indeed, with all in the universe, but more nearly or remotely accord-

ing to the reception of good by means of truths with themfrom Him. For good is that in which the Lord is present with

angel, spirit, and man; therefore the extent and quality of good

from the Lord with them are what determine the extent andquality of His presence; if the presence goes beyond this,

there is anguish and tremor; but by accommodation to recep-tion there is renewal of life. This renewal is what is signified

by "Fear not." Renewal of life, that comes by accommodation

to reception, appears in the spiritual world, when it is present-

ed to view, as a cloud. All societies there are encompassed bysuch a cloud, denser or rarer according to reception.

    Pastoral and Silent Prayer

The Lords PrayerOur Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name.

Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in

Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive our sins,as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of

trial, and deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and

the Power, and the Glory, forever. Amen.

Hymn: Christ, Whose Glory Fills the Skies

    Musical Interlude

    Offering

DoxologyTo Jesus Christ be glory given

By all on Earth and all in Heaven.

Let His dominion wide extend. His glorious Kingdom have no end.

Affirmation of FaithWe worship the One God, the Lord the Savior Jesus

Christ, Redeemer of the world, in whom is the Father, the Son

and the Holy Spirit; whose humanity is divine. He came into theworld and took our nature upon him. He endured temptation,

even to the Passion of the Cross. He overcame the hells, and so

    delivered all. Without this, no mortal could have been saved;

and they are saved who believe in Him, and keep the command-ments of His Word. This is His commandment; that we love one
