1. Procedure for making MSDSplus

The procedure for making MSDSplus is shown below.

2. [Step 1] Start-up the Tool 1/3

2-1 Download “JAMP MSDSplus Input supporting tool” from JAMP website. (Refer to Page 23)

Note)When you make MSDSplus, please check the version of the tool on

JAMP website, and use the latest one.

2-2 Start up the Excel file containing this Tool.


a. The Excel macro should be enabled, since this tool works as a macro program. b. The method for enabling the Excel macro is shown in page 4 and 5. c. The following dialog box will appear depending on the External List version. If the

list is not the latest version, please download the latest one from JAMP website. The External List and the Tool must be saved in the same folder. Please restart up the Tool after the download.

＜Excel 2002, 2003＞

① In the menu of MS Excel, click on Tools > Macro > Security, and select Medium on the Security Level tab. ② Click “Enable macros” on the menu that appears when the file is opened.


c. When the tool is started up, [Explanation]sheet will appears. Please read it first. Especially, the tool supports Excel 2002 SP3 or above.

d. The tool supports English, Japanese and Chinese. You can select a language in [Functional Option]sheet. However, Fujitsu cannot accept AIS in Chinese.

＜Excel 2007＞


① Once you open the tool, a security warning will appear the menu in MS Excel (in the ribbon at the top of the screen). Click the [Enable this content] button.

＜Excel 2010＞

①Once you open the tool, a security warning will appear the menu in MS Excel (in the ribbon at the top of the screen). Click the [Options] button.

②Select “Enable this content” on the security options menu that appears.

③ Click the [OK]button.

3. [Step 2] Input General Information 1/3

3-1 Select the [General Information]sheet.

3-2 Input the MSDSplus information. *Marked Column: Required Field


Fill in revision number.

(e.g.1,2,…) If not revised , leave it blank.

If the [Import Template]button is clicked, the issuing company information entered in [Function Option]sheet is copied.

3-4 Select the Declaration Concerning Substance Information. The default of “issued or revised” is based on the content of the External List.


PBT, GADSL, and JIG scope must be covered in Ver.4.0.

① Select the [Substance Name]cell.

② Click the [Select]button.

The [Select Substance]window will appear.

① Input CAS No. Click the [CAS] button.

② The search results are displayed here. ③ Click the [SELECT] button.

①：Filter Substance list

Filters substances to display in the list by applicable regulation conditions (multiple conditions can be specified). For the correspondences between applicable regulation codes and regulation names, refer to the bottom of the screen.

②： Search by

Searches substances applicable to the specified string from among those currently displayed in the list in the screen. You can perform a Match Partial/Match Whole Search by the English Name, CAS No., or EC No. (If you click “Search by” button in a row, the focus moves to the next substance matching the condition.)

③： Sort by

Sorts the data displayed in the list in the order of the English Name or CAS No. of a substance. (Usually searched in the order of the CAS No.)

④： SELECT

Select a substance from the list in the center of the screen, and detailed information is displayed at the bottom of the screen. Check the content and click the “SELECT” button to enter the data into the composition list.

4-5 When a substance is selected, appropriate flag is entered in the [Relevant Standard] field automatically.


① Fill in the Concentration wt% field with the substance concentration in the material. ② If other substance need to be reported, please repeat the procedure “4-2” to “4-4”.

5. [Step 4] Input Requester Information

5-1 Select the [Requester Information]sheet.

When the [Import Template]button is clicked, Requester Information entered in the [Function Option]sheet can be copied.

6-3 If there are errors in the tool, the error message will appear. After the message, the [Report]sheet will appear. Please correct the MSDSplus according to the report. If there is no error, only the completion message will appear.

7. [Step 6] Export XML 1/3


7-1 Select the [Composition]sheet.

7-2 Click the [Export XML] button.

7-3 When the[Export XML]button is clicked, the following screen appears for specifying the saving location and the file name. After you have selected the folder in which to store the file, click the [Save(S)]button. A new XML file will be created.

The [Temporally SAVE]button can be used when data needs to be saved as XML temporally. In this case, an error check is not performed. The filename is as follows:

Formal version : MSDSp4_yyyymmdd_xxxx.xml Error version : MSDSp4_Error_yyyymmdd_xxxx.xml

7-4 The file name is as follows:

Temporary version : MSDSp4_Temp_yyyymmdd_xxxx.xml

Note 1)yyyymmdd represents date of issuing, and xxxx represents Issuing Company Item Number. Note 2)Please do not change filename of official version.

8. Functional Option

5-1 Select the [Functional Option]sheet.

5-2 The followings can be set in the sheet.

① [Import XML]button


XML data can be imported using the [Import XML]button. When the [Import XML]button is clicked, the dialog box for selecting XML file

will appear. Please select the XML file to be imported.

② [Clear General Information]button

Information in the [General Information]sheet can be cleared using the [Clear General Information]button.

Once the button is clicked, the information cannot be restored.

③ [Print]button

Please use the [Print]button when printing is required. When the button is clicked, the MSDSplus information is copied in the

[Print] sheet. Please print out using the Excel print function.

① [All Clear]button

If you want to clear all the information in the [Composition]sheet, click the button.

② [Delete selected row]button

Select the cell that represents the line you want to delete. Click the button.

③ [Update substance Info]button

The External List can be updated using the [Update substance Info]button. If you click the button, the dialog box will appear. (Refer to the next page) If you click “Yes”, the following information will be updated.

The [Format Version] in the [General information] sheet is updated to “Ver.4.0”. The version number of the[Substance List] in the [General information] sheet is

updated to the same number as the External List that is currently used. [GADSL] and [JIG] in [General information] sheet are updated to “covers”(for

earlier versions). All the applicable flags and the substance names in the [Composition] sheet are

overwritten based on the content of the External List you are currently using.

② Choose [MSDSplus].

⑤ Fill in the following items - company name - the person in charge - e-mail address ⑥ Click the[send]button

⑦ An e-mail will be sent from JAMP. Please click the URL so that you move to JAMP materials download page.

⑧ Click the [Download] button. ⑨ Save the file (.zip) to folder of your computer. ⑩ ⑨ Uncompress the downloaded file (.zip) and Confirm the contents.
