Over the past three years, we have grown our team from 15 people to 90 as we have prototyped and marketed new services including analytics, mobile, XML transforms, email marketing, and digital production. These new groups have helped us target new segments and improve our content marketing efforts.

Project Management Tools

In 2011, I completed the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. I have used a variety of project management solutions during my career. The majority of my current work is done in WorkFront (formerly AtTask).

LDS.org Redesign

In 2013, we met with Adobe to start the migration process from our homegrown web content management system LDS Publisher to Adobe Experience Manager. We have worked with third-party integrators like Adobe partner Axis 41 and our internal developers and designers to move our websites to this platform.

History of LDS Digital Publishing

A few years ago, I partnered with internal product managers and an in-house designer to create a publishing timeline for the LDS Church, which included key milestones in print, radio, satellite, exhibits, web, social, and mobile. I presented this timeline in an interactive presentation for our department of 500+ people.

Gamification

In my current role as a manager of a large team, I have many opportunities for training my staff. I recently partnered with an internal graphic designer to create an adaptation of an existing card game to train my team on our new publishing process.

LDS Leadercast Conference

In early 2014, I was looking for leadership development experiences. What was initially just intended for my team became an internal conference for 375 people across 20+ departments. In 2015 we hosted the conference again for 450 people. I directed the budgets, marketing, hosting, and organizing committee.

Quality

I am an avid reader of business books. I go through about 1-2 each month. Over the past three years I have finished close to 80 books across many business topics. I started teaching a monthly class about these books to spread these best practices to other teams and brainstorm opportunities for application.

Other Noteworthy Projects

During my career I have worked on many other exciting projects. I developed and wrote an internal handbook on intellectual property best practices. I also was the assistant product manager for the Mormon Messages DVD. For close to a year, I ran many of the LDS Church’s main social media accounts.

I completed an internship in Washington DC at Medical Care Development International in 2009. I published a paper on Malaria Control in Sub-Saharan Africa in the Hinckley Journal of Politics. My senior thesis was a braided essay about the history of the Salt Lake Valley, the Great Salt Lake, and my own experiences.

Bachelors in English and International Studies

Masters in Instructional Design

I have developed a handful of iOS apps, one of which went into the App Store. I also experimented with creating learning experiences in Flash and iBooks. My time spent studying learning theory has also helped me develop intuitive user experiences for our products at the LDS Church.

I have taken several classes analyzing and comparing financial data for companies such as Fedex, UPS and the USPS. One of the highlights of my program was developing a concept for a job application automator. We prototyped the service which allowed us to apply to nearly 300 McDonalds jobs in under 3 hours.
