JA programs are funded by businesses and individuals, and are de-

signed to be taught in the classroom by business, parent, and com-

munity volunteers. Classroom volunteers make economic conceptsrelevant, fuel the entrepreneurial spirit, and challenge the students to

excel. JAs unique delivery system provides the training, materials,

and support necessary to ensure a positive experience. Our materials

include curriculum for elementary, middle and high school students.

Most non-prots do not have externally veriable data on the effec-

tiveness of their programs. But Junior Achievement has contractedwith an independent research rm which concluded that students

have a better understanding of economics and business after partici-

pating in JA programs and they understand the connection betweeneducation and success. Students improve their critical thinking and

problem solving skills, are better leaders and communicators. On

the other hand students have virtually no understanding of the free

enterprise system without participation in JA programs.
