iXS European Downhill CupAfter eight years the iXS European Downhill Cup is still fresh, but an established series; a little unorthodox, but still high-class; not the World Cup, but somehow pleasantly intimate – pure racing by and with lots of people who simply love the sport! And sometimes it is even a role model: with this year’s introduction of the Super Final for the top 30 Elite Men riders we added another highlight to each race weekend.

Seit acht Jahren gibt es nun den iXS European Downhill Cup. Er ist etabliert und trotzdem frisch, etwas punkig, jedoch absolut hochkarätig, nicht der Weltcup, dafür aber familiär – das ist Racing pur, gemacht von Menschen, die diesen Sport lieben! We will celebrate the beginning of the season in beautiful Slovenia. This opening race in Maribor is already the first classic venue of the discipline and an annual guarantor of perfect racing action on a well prepared track. As the first race of the season, the race usually draws a lot of international attention and we are looking forward to it!

Los geht es wieder im slowenischen Maribor. Das Auftaktrennen ist gleich einer der Klassiker dieser Disziplin. Am Hausberg der knapp 100.000 Einwohner zählenden und damit zweitgrößten Stadt Sloweniens wird ein Saisonstart gefeiert, der nicht nur streckentechnisch perfektes Racing garantiert. Wie immer wird die internationale Aufmerksamkeit beim ersten Rennen extrem hoch sein.

The second race also belongs to the all-time classics: Only one week after the World Cup in Leogang the world’s elite will make their way to Schladming. Not only the date, but also the high popularity of the course will lure numerous riders and visitors to the Planai.

Beim zweiten Rennen der Serie steht erneut ein Klassiker auf dem Programm. Eine Woche nach dem Weltcup in Leogang wird die Weltelite in Schladming empfangen. PILAAfter 2014’s huge success the EDC will once again include a race at the European version of the Crankworx Festival in Les Deux Alpes (France). This third race will complete the first half of the season with some really big names of the downhill elite and three days filled with pure action and fun.

Mit diesem sicherlich unvergesslichen Ereignis findet die erste Halbzeit der Serie ihren krönenden Abschluss. Erwartet werden natürlich wieder die ganz großen Namen und drei Tage vollgepackt mit Action der Extraklasse.

The Italian venue of the series has established its position as an absolute highlight of every season during the last few years. Every year, Pila provides the riders with a track that might well belong to the hardest tracks in the world! And for those of you who still got some air left: just enjoy the breathtaking view, including the Matterhorn, the Mont Blanc and the Monte Rosa.

Der italienische Stopp der Serie konnte sich in den letzten Jahren als absoluter Klassiker entwickeln. Jahr für Jahr wird in Pila ein Kurs geboten, der wohl zu den anspruchsvollsten der Welt gehört. Ähnlich atemberaubend erscheint jedoch auch der Blick abseits des Renngesche-hens auf das umliegende Panorama mit Matterhorn, Mont Blanc und Monte Rosa.

For our last stop on the way to the season finals we will take a turn towards the east and make our way to Spicak (Czech Republic). The track might not exactly be a long one, but it is definitely full of surprises that require a lot of strength, skill and nerves. With a track that shows attention to smallest detail the Bohemian Forest is definitely worth a trip!

Beim vorletzten Rennen geht es noch einmal Richtung Osten. Im tschechischen Spicak erwartet die Fahrer zwar eine nicht allzu lange Strecke, dafür aber ein Untergrund, der volle Konzentration erfordert. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail wird nun bereits zum fünften Mal das Rennen als Europacup ausgetragen und somit ist dieser Abstecher in den Böhmerwald erneut eine Reise wert.

Of course, the final race is always something special. Leogang is the oldest member of the EDC family and will once again host the final race of the season. The riders will fight one last time for the on the World Cup track – not exactly the easiest thing to do, but after all everything comes with a price!

Das Finale ist immer etwas Besonderes. Leogang als ältestes Mitglied der Serie wird erneut Gastgeber des wohl spannendsten Rennens und ist der einzige Ort, der gleichzeitig auch Weltcupaustragungsort ist. Die am Ende gekürten Seriensieger müssen also noch einmal hart kämpfen, denn geschenkt bekommt man auf diesem Kurs nichts. Leogang SEPT. 18.-20.

iXS German Downhill CupThe iXS German Downhill Cup will include another two races this year: In addition to the annual races at the festivals in Winterberg and Willingen the series will finally return to Todtnau and Tabarz, while the last and final race of the series will lead us to Ilmenau for the “Absolute Abfahrt”. The GDC enters its 10th season in 2015 and this – together with the extreme popularity it developed during this time – is definitely a reason to celebrate!

Der iXS German Downhill Cup wird in diesem Jahr mit zwei neuen Rennen für etwas Abwechslung sorgen. Neben den Rennen bei den großen Festivals in Winterberg und Willingen kehrt die Serie endlich mal wieder nach Todtnau und Tabarz zurück, bevor es zum Abschluss zur Absoluten Abfahrt nach Ilmenau geht. Der German Cup geht 2015 in seine zehnte Runde und konnte sich unbestritten zu einer der erfolgreichsten nationalen Rennserien entwickeln.

iXS Swiss Downhill CupThe oldest series in the iXS family is the Swiss Downhill Cup. The Swiss moun-tains gave birth to a race series that now belongs to a long and successful tradition and that still is as attractive for riders of any age as it was back in 2003. In 2015 Verbier will again be among the venues of the series – it is time for a change after a long abstinence!

Die älteste Serie der Familie ist der Swiss Cup. Schon 2003 wurde in den Schweizer Bergen unter dem Titel iXS eine Rennserie ins Leben gerufen, die bis heute durch harte Strecken und zugleich familiärer Atmosphäre nichts an Attraktivität eingebüßt hat. Ein wechselnder Rennkalender hält die Serie frisch und somit ist es schön, dass nach einigen Jahren Abstinenz nun wieder Verbier Gastgeber eines Stopps sein wird.

ROOKIES CUP

iXS Rookies CupThe iXS Cup also especially focuses on the support of young riders. With the Rookies Cup and the International Rookies Championships the downhill disci-pline took a huge step up by giving young riders (up from the age of 11 years) the chance to participate in the sport, gain first experience and to collect their first titles in races. For 2015 five races in three different were confirmed - the Rookies Cup finally goes transnational!

Der iXS Cup sieht sich seit vielen Jahren auch in der Verantwortung der Nachwuchsförderung. Mit dem Rookies Cup und nun auch den internationalen Rookies Championships wurde ein Format geschaffen, bei dem Teilnehmer bereits ab elf Jahren erste Erfahrungen und auch erste Titel sammeln können. Für 2015 wurde der Cup auf 5 Rennen in drei Ländern erweitert. Somit wird auch den Jüngsten eine länderübergreifende Serie geboten.

The iXS Dirt Masters Festival definitely belongs to the biggest events of the whole bike scene. For the ninth time the bike park Winterberg will be hosting a series of spectacular races, breathtaking contests and provide riders and visitors with some incredible action! More than 1000 participants will take part in Europe’s biggest gravity festival, including various disciplines like Downhill, Fourcross and Slopestyle. In addition to racing and sports, the expo area will include more than 100 different brands, presenting their latest products and the Vans Music Stage will be the perfect conclusion at the end of some exciting days!

Das iXS Dirt Masters Festival gehört zweifelsohne zu den größten Veranstaltungen der Szene. Bereits zum neunten Mal jährt sich in diesem Jahr dieses Ereignis, bei dem der Bikepark Winterberg im Mittelpunkt spektakulärer Rennen, atemberaubender Contests und jeder Menge Action steht. Über tausend Teilnehmer werden bei Europas größtem Gravity Festival in den Disziplinen Downhill, Fourcross und Slopestyle an den Start gehen. Natürlich gibt es aber auch abseits der Wettbewerbe einiges zu sehen, denn mehr als hundert Marken präsentieren sich in der Expoarea und nicht zuletzt sorgt die Vans Music Stage für den perfekten Ausklang des Tages.

FESTIVALFrom the 12th to the 14th June 2015 Sauerland becomes once again a scene of the biggest German mountain bike event all around Willingen. With varied Side events, a Downhill-Challenge, the Specialized-SRAM Enduro Series, the Rocky Mountain BIKE ma-rathon, the Scott Junior Trophy and more this event will be the highlight for participants, visitors and families. Beyond that, the biggest German outdoor exhibition in the MTB area with about 180 famous exhibitors and 35,000 excited guests, an optimum platform, gives you the chance to test the latest products.
