It’s About Us: Employee Experience Survey• First opportunity for academic and support staff to

provide feedback about what it is like to work at the U of M.

• Designed by U of M representatives in consultation with Probe Research Inc.

• Survey questions which emerged from previous qualitative process included:

• Two-pronged opinion statements measuring importance of and agreement on 31 factors across 7 dimensions.

• Eight open-ended questions.• Five statements measuring attitudes toward the

workplace.• One question measuring overall job satisfaction.

• Conducted between June 15 – 30, 2011.

• 1440 out of 4725 eligible employees responded to this survey (30.5% response rate).

• Overall survey response rate for many higher education institutions is about 20%.

• 31.5% of respondents provided verbatim comments to the open-ended questions (3634 units of entry).
