Dear Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that I join with Program Chair Jenna Karadbil, Conference Co-Chairs

Robert Milligan and Jeremy Morton, and the Planning Committee, to invite you to join us at the ITechLaw 2014 World Technology Law Conference & Annual Meeting. The 2014 Conference will be held May 14-16 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

With delegates from more than 45 countries, we welcome leading attorneys in private practice and in-house counsel, business executives, government officials and academics.

This year’s conference will feature a wide-ranging program with sessions in the following areas: innovation, licensing and contracting, cyber security, outsourcing, mobile telecoms, data privacy perspectives, media convergence, e-commerce, intellectual property and internet/social media.

I look forward to seeing you in May. Springtime in New York City is one of the most beautiful times of year to visit.

Sincerely,

Kiran Sandford President, ITechLaw

Visit New York City

May might be one of the best

months to visit New York City.

Springtime in this global city

promises warms days and cool

nights with colorful spring

flowers abloom. New York City

is a sprawling cultural consisting

of 5 boroughs: Queens, the

Bronx, Harlem, Staten Island and

Manhattan – the center of all the

action. You will find navigating

Manhattan is quite easy as its

streets were built on a grid

system, with numbered avenues

running north and south and

numbered streets running east

and west.

Manhattan itself is comprised of various neighborhoods, each offering a vastly different flavor. Neighborhoods include: Central Park, Chelsea, Chinatown, East Village, Flatiron District, Gramercy, Harlem, Hell’s Kitchen, Koreatown, Lower East Side, Lower Manhattan, Meatpacking District, Midtown, Nolita/Little Italy, Soho, Times Square, Tribeca, Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Washington Heights, Washington Square (or Greenwich Village) and West Village.

New York City boasts some of the top museums in the world.

Over 2 million works of art are housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. If you’re more into contemporary pieces, then we also recommend the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) or the Guggenheim. However, if history is more your thing, then you’ll want to check out the American Museum of Natural History.

If you’re planning on spending extra time in the City before or after the conference, you’ll want to check out famed Central Park – filled with runners and walkers and bikers galore. Perhaps you want to take in a night at

the ballgame; the Yankees are playing home rival the New York Mets from May 12-15 and playing at home against Pittsburgh from May 16-18.

New York City is a foodie’s paradise. With thousands of restaurants, there are dining options for every taste, style and budget. To assist you in choosing your evening destination, we recommend using Zagat, Yelp, OpenTable (also great for booking online reservations), NYC.com, Time Out New York and the New York Times Dining & Wine section.

Welcome Reception Gala Reception & Dinner

As the world’s pre-eminent innovator and originator of gracious social dining, The Waldorf Astoria New York has been a beacon of hospitality since it first welcomed guests over a century ago. Join your colleagues for this special Welcome Reception being held in the John Jacob Astor Salon. The Salon was named in honor of one of the wealthiest men in America in the early 19th century, John Jacob Astor by his grandson John Jacob Astor IV. John Jacob Astor IV was the founder and inspiration behind the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, a New York legend and sadly a non-surviving passenger of the Titanic, named the room in honor of his grandfather. Attendees are invited to step back in time to this historic and breathtaking venue where you can reconnect with friends and colleagues and make new connections.

Black-tie recommended; ticketed event.

Welcome to the United Nations and the location for the 2014 ITechLaw World Conference Gala Dinner! The Headquarters of the World Organization is located on an 18-acre site on the East side of Manhattan. The Gala will be held in the Delegates Dining Room which features floor-to-ceiling windows with 180-degree spectacular views overlooking the East River and New York City’s majestic skyline.

The evening will begin with cocktails served on the outdoor patio with its sweeping vistas of the skyline, city lights and the Queensboro Bridge. Dinner will be served in the Delegates Dining Room, the renowned setting where diplomats, ambassadors and world leaders dine, celebrate and arbitrate. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience this historic venue for the ITechLaw Gala Dinner.
