Bear was enjoying a nicelong sleep. In fact he wouldhave slept all day long if hehadn’t begun to itch …and it was no ordinary itch.

then behindhis ears,

It started betweenhis toes,

and soon he was itching all over!“I must find somewhere for agood scratch,” he thought.

and underhis chin,

He found the perfect rock forscratching a bear’s bottom.

“Oooh, lovely,” thought Bear.

“Do you mind!” cried a mole,appearing from a small moundof soil nearby.

“I’m trying to do some seriousdigging down here. Go andscratch somewhere else!”

“Oh dear,” thought Bear.

Then he spotted theperfect branch forscratching behind abear’s ears.

“Mmm, wonderful,”thought Bear.
