WHY USE IT POWER FOR YOUR POWER PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS?

Specific expertise is required to ensure that your critical infrastructure, networks and ICT systems are safeguarded from power outages and that the power protection equipment is comprehensively maintained and serviced to a standard that fully meets your power protection, precision cooling and business continuity needs. With regards to Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) / Power Distribution Unit (PDU) / Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) / Precision Cooling / Generator set / Generator controller maintenance, service and support issues, inevitably the following questions arise “who takes care of this – whose responsibility is it to sort this out – who do we call when it fails?” Additional management overhead is often required to manage this type of issue, whereas if IT Power are engaged as a specialised partner to achieve the levels of uptime that you require from your power and cooling infrastructure (by designing, supplying, installing, servicing , maintaining and supporting turnkey solutions which include UPS equipment, critical cooling systems, standby generators, controllers, power distribution and associated electrical systems), any such problems can be identified and resolved without question; often before you, our customer, is even aware of them.

The consequences to your business if the power or cooling infrastructure fails could include:-

Time and expense of investigating, identifying and restoring / replacing data and hardware.

Losses caused by lack of employee productivity as a direct result of business downtime, and

“catching up” again once the systems are restored.

Customers not being able to place orders, request services, pay invoices etc.

Lost sales and service revenue opportunities during tight economic conditions, losing business and

customers to the opposition in a highly competitive market.

Bad publicity which would affect customer confidence and brand value.

A negative impact on your relationship with any affected customers (and their customers).

Most IT partners and service providers do not have the depth of experience and expertise required to ensure that their customers’ power continuity and critical cooling requirements are met. The consequences of this are that: Customers may conceivably be presented with, or sold, a solution that does not adequately protect their critical business infrastructure.

MCLENNAN POWER STANDBY GENERATORS These generators include either a Cummins or a Perkins diesel engine matched with a Stamford Alternator and Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR). The generator system has an ABB output circuit breaker and is enclosed in a high specification sound attenuated canopy which utilises flame retardant sound attenuating materials complete with a bunded fuel tank incorporated in the base. The McLennan Power generator use the ComAP AMF 25 generator controller which provides a dynamic control system and increased I/O options for complex industrial applications. The controller will also monitor utility power and can be made visible on a network system either locally or remotely. The increased I/O capacity is provided in both analogue and digital format drive many extra functions and remote senders sensors. Further details on the McLennan Power standby generator sets, together with reference sites throughout the region can be found at www.mclennanpower.com Other features of the McLennan Power standby generator sets include:

Super silent sound attenuated rounded canopy rated at 65dB or 74dB @ 7 meters Bunded 24 hour fuel tank ComAP AMF25 auto mains fail generator controller Water jacket heater ABB Circuit breaker Stainless steel external fasteners with powder coated corrosion prevention paint coatings

ASCO – CHANGE-OVER SWITCH The function performed by the mains-generator switch is critical to the supply of power to the ICT load, both during times of normal power supply and in the event of a mains failure. For this reason the ASCO Mains-Generator Change-over Switch utilised here is of hospital / data centre grade. The ASCO Series 200 switch will provide increased functionality for the installation overall; one major benefit is that there is no danger of the ASCO transferring loads to a dead source because the unique single-solenoid operator derives power to operate from the source to which the load is being transferred. The ASCO switch does not rely on contactors being energised thus removing further possible single points of failure that can be inherent in other designs. ASCO switches also minimise or eliminate the power interruption that can occur with other generator circuit breaker automatic transfer switches when changing back to mains supply from generator power.

DATABLOK – PORTABLE CONTAINERISED DATA CENTRE The datablok Portable Containerised Data Centre provides an ideal solution for New Zealand and Australian businesses looking to implement a physical data centre with a high degree of:

Flexibility Reliability Efficiency Security Transportability

Each datablok is configured specifically to the user's requirements and is supplied as a turnkey, pre-tested and commissioned system. Specifications can include a standby generator, redundant power and cooling, fire detection/suppression and remote monitoring/management options.
