What is NetDay?

To connect every children to a brighter future by helpingthe teachers meet the educational goals through theeffective use of the Educational Technology andInformation and Communication Technology (ICT).

To allow school to install network cabling in classrooms,office rooms, libraries and laboratories to a central pointin the school and to enable schools to connect to theInternet in an economical manner.

To help students, teachers, administrators, parents, andcommunity members develop capacity for effectivetechnology used in learning environments

Why NetDay in Nepal?

Nepal AOTS is working towards the promotion of ICTand Human Resource Development in Nepal.

To install network cable in classrooms, office rooms,libraries and laboratories to a central point with the help

of school students, school teachers, school managementboard, community members and assistance ofvolunteers who have expertise in ICT .

To be able to connect Internet and exchangecommunication with world children.

To increase community activity around school, and worktogether with teachers, childrens parents and volunteers.

Why NetDay in Nepal?

Nepal AOTS received 50 used NotebookComputers from Mitshubishi Electric throughToyanaka International Friendship Association(TIFA) with the help from Yoshiaki Hayasaka,Senior JICA Volunteer.

12 used Desktop Computers from NepalInvestment Bank.

Distribute these computers to public schools andencourage students and teachers to use thecomputer as a teaching tool and use the Internetto increase their knowledge.

Started in central California in March 1996 Expanded nationwide and internationally from 1996

1st NetDay in Nepal at Shanti Nikunja Secondary School,Maruhiti on December 31, 2004 to January 1, 2005.

2nd NetDay in Nepal at Kanti Iswori Shishu Vidhyalaya,

Tripureshwor on July 22, 2005 to July 23, 2005. 3rd NetDay in Nepal at Tripadma Vidyashrm Higher

Secondary School, Lalitpur on August 26 - 27 2005.
