Dear Lovely Lawson,

NAIDOC – Because of her we can

A beautiful assembly was hosted by our Bigewong Crew last Friday with Ms Poulton coordinating the assembly. Thank you to Kindergarten for their song and Ms Percival for her shared reading. It was great to see so many parents as well celebrate with our students. On the windows in our courtyard all the students have responded to the powerful message “Because of her we can”. Take a look next time you are in – we have amazing artists and researchers at LPS.

State Cross Country.

We congratulate Tate on his efforts at the State Cross Country held at Eastern Creek last Friday. Tate represented our district well and we are very proud of his achievements at such a high representative level.

Uniform – wear it with Pride!

It is lovely to see a “field of Green” when we look out at our students at assembly. I would like to thank everyone for wearing our school uniform with respect. Please be aware that dangly earrings and necklaces may become a problem if caught up. Congratulations to everyone for wearing our uniform with pride.

School Banking is changing to Thursday’s starting the 2nd August

Remember, THURSDAY is School Banking day and students should bring in their weekly deposit.

For every deposit made at school, students will receive a silver Dollarmites token. Once students have individually collected 10 tokens they can redeem them for an exclusive School Banking reward item in recognition of their regular savings habits.

School Banking is also a great fundraiser for our school. Our school receives a Regular Savers Contribution of $5 for every 10 deposits processed per student as well as an Annual Contribution which is based on the number of students who made at least one School Banking deposit in the prior year.

If your child has lost their book, they can bring their money to school in a sealed envelope with a note on the next School Banking day. We will issue them with a replacement.

Thank you for supporting the School Banking program at Lawson Public School. We would also like to thank the wonderful parents who volunteer as our School Banking Co-ordinators and process our banking every week. If you would like to know more about School Banking, please ask for a 2018 School Banking program information pack from the school office or visit commbank.com.au/schoolbanking

NAIDOC Week

Thank you to all staff, students and parents who helped us to celebrate NAIDOC in Week one. We had a fantastic response from community at our NAIDOC assembly and students have proudly shown off their work on the office windows.

We have some exciting things coming up in Term 4 for our students to continue learning and celebrating Aboriginal culture.

Your continued support contributes greatly to our success and growth at Lawson.

Thank you!

Miss Poulton
