When asked to recollect “Back to School Spirit Friday,” students provided descriptions including, togas, jaguars, “1-OH you know”, white out, and undoubt-edly “ e Stanky Legg.”

As students gleefully sauntered through the doors of Rock Canyon adorned in glorious togas, there was an impending sense of the Jaguar roar soon to be erupting from the gymnasium later that day. It was the rst spirit day of the year, and everyone had their own unique ways of reppin’ their Jag pride.

All the classes expressed their spirit in a di erent way. Seniors expressed their seniority through displays of black and gold (and obviously togas), Sophomores organized a “White-out” that would make a blizzard jealous, and Juniors and Freshmen amounted to absolutely noth-ing. Pe y fools.

“ e School Spirit was like diarrhea, explosive and it just kept on coming” said Patrick Cline ‘10.

As the events of the day progressed through expositions of teen spirit in coherence with Caesar’s downfall, infec-tious cheering, and the excitement for

the upcoming dance, students couldn’t seem to fathom how much fun had been elapsed in one day.

“It was great to unite with all of my friends and class and dance my heart out to a great DJ and fun day overall!” said Sidney Fleecs ‘13.

Finally the day lead to night and the dance had arrived. A er straining through ID checks comparable to airport security, students were ready to shake a leg (a stanky one that is). We walked it out, cranked that Soulja Boy, and did a thriller dance cover that even MJ (may his soul rest in peace) would be proud of; but most importantly we had a good time welcoming a new era of Rock Canyon High School spirit.

Smells like teen spiritFriday, August 21 was the rst assembly and spirit day.
