Family and Friends,

I am writing to update you onsome exciting news! I am about toembark on one of my dreams Ihave wanted to experience formany years now. I am workingtowards going to Israel inSeptember!!! This is an intensestudy program where I will bestudying key places and passagesin the Old Testament, the Inter-Testamental Period (the 400 yearsbetween Malachi and Matthew),and the New Testament. The

program exposes us to geography and ancient cultural customs of the Bible. Itwill provide layer upon layer of context and understanding. We will begin a threemonth study (June-August) that will culminate with two weeks of Biblical study inIsrael from September 24-October 7, 2011.

Heading up this program is our very own Women’sMinistry Director (at Strong Tower Bible Church) KristiMcClelland, who is also a professor at WilliamsonChristian College (http://www.williamsoncc.edu). Shehas encouraged me to take this program to bettertrain and equip me for the journey ahead. Ourcurriculum is based on A Visual Guide To BibleEvents book written by Dr. James C Martin, John ABeck & David G Hansen. Dr. Martin will actually beour Educator and guide for the full two weeks over inIsrael as well!

In addition to the educational value, we will beintentionally ministering to a small community of Christian Palestinians. Theseare brothers and sisters in Christ that the Israelis don’t trust because they areArab and the Arabs don’t like them because they are not Muslim. Our team isgoing to collect backpacks and school supplies for the Christian Palestinianchildren. The supplies we bring will be distributed during our time in Israel tohelp meet some of the needs of these Christian families. Another excitingopportunity that I am excited to offer is for you to send your prayers with me toIsrael! I will personally put them in the Wailing Wall!!!

After much prayer and feeling God calling me to Israel, I have accepted theinvitation to this program. I am writing you to ask you to help me realize thisdream in two ways. If you are able to donate at this time, it would be greatlyappreciated but I would also ask you to please pray for all aspects of this trip.

We have already started making plans for fundraising events at church. I amalso in the process of saving my tips at work to go towards the trip! Be on thelook out for more information as we look to cover the tuition of $4,500.00

When the program is completed, I would love the opportunity to share with youall that I learned and experienced. I will also be updating my facebook pageperiodically with information and photos. I am so grateful for this opportunity and Iappreciate your prayers and support!
