a letter to friends + family everywhere

dear family and friends,

There’s a place near hidden in the corner of Romania with a pulse for healing and restoration. Because when the orphaned celebrate birthday, the state institution claims them unwanted and their sent to the streets, not sung a song. And they don’t quite know how to read or write, work or play, so they steal and they sniff and they sell themsleves on the street. And it’s just humbling because He’s given me the opportunity to ‘cross the globe and reach into these fragile places. He’s commissioned me to hold nameless babies, advocate for neglected orphans, and offer hope to hurting women who’ve been enslaved. And that place hidden near the border, they’ve opened wide their doors to me, asked me to partner with them in this work of grace. And as terrifying and uncertain as this commitment is, my soul is startled awake to action and this letter, it’s really just an invitation for you to join in. I can’t bring an end to infant abandonment or secure justice for the enslaved or maintain the cause of the afflicted. But, because you’re the Body, compelled passionately by Love, I believe that together, we can. We can storm the gates of hell and we can reach into the dark places and we can testify of an all-powerful redeeming Christ. In a sector of the world where less than 1% of the population is evangelical christian, where infant abandonment is at an all time high, and where more than a quarter of all women are trafficked and sold for sex, you can have influence. Together, we can celebrate the redemptive

work of Christ by reaching ‘cross country borders and cultures and nationalities and living lives of lavish love. After all, Love is the most radically subversive activism of all, the only thing that ever changed anyone. So, would you, Body of Christ, full of love, consider partnering with me?
