the limitations of traditional cognition by studying the complex interactions between individuals, artefacts and the environment
Cole and Engestrom (1997) argue that the idea of distributed cognition is not a new one
Distributed cognition studies all aspects of cognition from a cognitive, social and organisational perspective and was first discussed in this way by Hutchins (1992), it provided a new paradigm for conceptualising human work activities (Preece et al., 2002).
