Author Submission Guidelines
IJET is an international journal seeks to publish papers that report results from original, novel research which
addresses significant environmental and technology issues contributing new knowledge to science.
The editors encourage high quality papers where the pollutants related to measurement, control and source of
pollutants. Papers with biological, ecological, and human health related in environment are preferred. This
includes air, water, wastewater, solid waste, soil pollution evaluation and control. The application and
introduction of novel technologies in the area of nanotechnology, biotechnology and nanobiotechnology
for the study and measurement of pollutants are also encouraged. IJET provides a forum for the
discussion of environmental problems and pollution control around the world and includes the following
topics:
• Advanced technologies and processes for CO2 capture • Air pollution control systems and engineering • Ambient air pollution control • Biotechnology in environmental pollution • Clean technologies • Modeling in pollution emission, transportation and pollution control • Nanobiotechnology in environmental pollution • Biotechnology in environmental pollution • Nanotechnology in environmental pollution • New technologies for solid waste management • Process modifications for pollution prevention • Soil pollution and bioremediation • Source controlling technologies • Waste treatment and disposal • Wastewater treatment by new technologies • Water pollution and treatment processes • Water reuse technologies
1- Submitting articles
� Registration in IJET electronic database and completing Submission form is required for submitting articles. IJET electronic database: http://uijs.ui.ac.ir/ijet
� The Prerequisite form (cover letter) should be completed and submitted. � The author (s) should confirm that their manuscripts are original research and has not been published
and is not under review elsewhere; Except for the abstracts presented at the Scientific Assembly (The papers presented at scientific meetings must be noted on the prerequisite form).
� Authors are responsible for the content of the article. � Editors are free to make the final decision on whether to accept or reject a particular manuscript. � Manuscripts will be subject to a pre-review and when the approval of the editorial is obtained, it will
be published with respect to time. � Use Microsoft Office Word 2007 in letter-sized paper (8½ × 11 inches) in one column.
2- Language & Authors' names
� Language: Please write your text only in good English (American or British usage is accepted, but not a mixture of these). Manuscripts should be well written and well organized with no grammatical deviation.
� Authors' names: Authors' names should be listed in the order they wish to appear. Change and handling the authors names, after setting out the outcome of reviews would not be possible.
� Where the family name may be ambiguous (e.g., a double name), please indicate this clearly. Present the authors' affiliation addresses (where the actual work was done).
For example: Mohammad hossein Habibi, Professor of environmental chemistry, University of isfahan, [email protected] Ali shahabi, MSc of Microbiology, Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran, [email protected]
� Corresponding author: Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication.
3- Title, Abstracts, Keywords and Highlights
� Title: Concise and informative Titles are often used in information-retrieval systems. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible.
� English abstract: The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusions. An abstract is often presented separately from the article, so it must be able to stand alone. Abstracts of less than 300 words are required for all papers submitted.
� Farsi abstract: Translation of abstract to persian is necessary. This abstract should be set similar to english one and containing the following sections. For foreign authors unfamiliar with farsi, their abstracts will be translated by the language editor of the journal, free of charges.
� Graphical abstract: A Graphical abstract is optional and should summarize the contents of the article in a concise, pictorial form designed to capture the attention of a wide readership online. Authors must provide images that clearly represent the work described in the article. Graphical abstracts should be submitted as a separate file in the online submission system. Image size: Please provide an image with a minimum of 531 × 1328 pixels (h × w) or proportionally more. The image should be readable at a size of 5 × 13 cm using a regular screen resolution of 96 dpi. Preferred file types: MS Office files.
� key words: Up to 7 key words listed, in alphabetical order, after the abstract are required for indexing purposes.
� Highlights: Highlights are mandatory for this journal. They consist of a short collection of bullet points that convey the core findings of the article and should be inserted in the full article file, after English abstract. It should include 3 to 5 bullet points (maximum 85 characters).
4- Manuscript preparation
� Manuscripts should be compiled in the following order:
Introduction, Material and Method, Results, Discussion & Conclusion and References.
The Introduction section should state the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results. It must include the rationale for the study, the investigators hypothesis and a clear statement of the purpose of the study.
The Materials and methods section should provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be reproduced. Methods already published should be indicated by a reference: only relevant modifications should be described.
The result section should provide data that are clearly and simply stated without discussion or conclusion. Tables and figures should be cited parenthetically. The same data Should not be presented in both table and graph form or repeated in the text. Data should not be repeated unnecessarily in text, tables and figures .
The discussion section should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.
� Acknowledge (if required) should be at the end of the article before the references section.
5- Tables, Figures, Diagrams, Photographs and Equations
� All tables, figures, diagrams and photographs should be numbered and have a title. The title of tables must be on top and below for the figures.
� If a figure or table is taken from another source, reference to the original table or figure should be provided and cited in the reference listed.
� Diagram should be set in one-dimensional format with black and white in color.
� For convenience of citation of equations, authors are encouraged to use Microsoft Word Equation 3.3. Plain sequential numbering through the manuscript is preferred and use the International System of Units (SI).
� In Text Wrapping setting select the format of images as In line with text.
6- References
� All references should be translated in English and they are numbered consecutively in the order they are first used in the text
� All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and all references listed in the reference list must be cited in the text.
� Vancouver citation style must be applied for all manuscripts. A superscript number is inserted in your text at the point where you refer to (cite) your source of information. A consecutive number is allocated to each source as it is referred to for the first time. For more information regarding ACS citation style refer to Journal's web site.
ACS (American Chemical Society) Style Guidelines (Quick Guide):
A: Citing References in the Body of a Paper
References in the body of a paper can be cited By number (italics). With numerical citations, references should be numbered sequentially. If a reference is repeated, do not give it another number; rather, use the original reference number. Example: The synthesis of the compound has been described previously (1).
B: Creating a Bibliography
� Arrange the references in your bibliography (at the end of the paper) numerically � If a book as a whole is used, pagination is not necessary. � It is necessary to use pantuation, Italics and boldfaces as the Style Guidelines.
