discovered in 1811 by Bernard Courtois in France. Iodine was named after the Greek word meaning “violet.” It’s atomic mass is 127, and atomic number is 53. This Halogen is a solid baby boy, and has a melting point of 113.7 degree’s Celsius & and boiling point of 184.4 degree’s Celsius.
