Humble BeginningsOriginally known as Rock Hall Crossroads, this quaint fishing town had humble beginnings with a history as old as the United States.

First as an important tobacco port and later as a major fishing and crabbing center, Rock Hall has become a unique destination for visitors who enjoy boating, RV-ing and wildlife in its natural environment. This picturesque community on the Eastern Shore of Maryland allows you to escape the frantic pace of metropolitan life - just a short distance away. Whether visiting for a day, a week or a season, you are welcome to relax, explore and enjoy the Chesapeake Bay.

Recreation at its BestRock Hall and its surrounding areas are perfect for outdoor recreation. With an

extensive fleet of charter boats, you can catch dinner or order fresh seafood at local restaurants. For those who simply want to be on the water, both sail and power boats are available to cruise the open Bay. Located right on the Chesapeake Bay, Rock Hall is the ideal port for pleasure boaters. Sheltered marinas, deep water and easy access, make it a comfortable location to slip away from it all.

Hunters from around the world find abundant flocks of ducks, geese and other migratory birds and plentiful deer roam the corn fields. An experienced guide can show you all the best spots. For those who shoot best with a camera, photo opportunities are everywhere. Rock Hall sunsets are not to be missed, and can be witnessed from various parts of town, including Ferry Park, home of the Rock Hall Beach.

Be sure to visit Eastern Neck Island (federal wildlife refuge), or Chesapeake Farms, where you can hike, rent a fishing boat or explore. Both are just a short trip by car. Sit on the dock with your feet in the water and watch the stars come out. Somehow they’re brighter in Rock Hall.

Enjoy the HospitalityThe accommodations in Rock Hall are first rate. They include inns that date back to the 1600s, tastefully decorated Bed and Breakfasts, quaint motels and contemporary vacation rentals. This variety of choices allows you to find that perfect fit.
