I'm not saying that you aren't telling the truth or you don't have a valid issue with Invicta

but i've bought over 40 Invicta's and only had a problem with 1 so it's a little over the top

for you to say that Invicta is a ripoff. You've just had a bad string of luck. Welcome to the forum by the way.

Ryan, I understand your anger, as I have had my share of issues with some Invicta watches.

However most times if Invicta hits the mark on mfg/quality issues you have yourself a fine

watch @ a good price.

Page 3: Invicta is a RIPOFF

I know this doesn't help you now, but in the future maybe give a shout out to us fellow

geeks & maybe we can help you with some of your issues?

Btw- There are plenty of other Mfg.'s who have some awsome watches, so again if your not

sure send out a thread to us geeks & maybe we can shed some light on other brands that

you may have an interest in.

In the meantime welcome to the land of geeks!

That bites pal, sorry to hear that. I've gotten 15 or so Invictas in the past 2 years. The only

issue I had was the stiching coming out of the band on one of them. I purchased that one from JC Pennys so I just took it back and they gave me a brand new one right away. Best of

luck going forward and welcome to the forum!

Ryan, first welcome to Watchgeeks.net

Sorry to hear you've had this kind of luck.

Can you tell us what kind of issues you're having with each watch.

The models you've listed all have very dependable movements.

I own watches (Invictas) with every one of those movements.

In order

if it's less then 60 days old, it's considered DoA and they waive the $28 fee; you just have to

pay for the shipping to invicta

Ryan,

You're headline is only going to make things worse. You are relatively new here with only 7

posts, and while you have a right to be upset, there's a good way to handle things and a not

so good way.

Since I didn't look up your numbers, what is the specific problem with you Grail, and what is

that watch? Also be specific as to the other watches you have and the problems with them..

If it is dead within 1 month, have you tried exchanging it for a new one or is it sold out?

Have you contacted Rebecca at Invicta and explained the problem (or problems) to her? She

has always been very helpful to me and others and while they might not be the fastest in

turning things around, they will do what they can to take care of any problems, and that might include not charging you the small fee they normally do.

Before you start mudslinging you should give them a chance to identify and correct the

problem...you might be surprised as to the results.

Page 6: Invicta is a RIPOFF

Please respond and let us know what the issues are on all your watches and perhaps we can

help. __________________

I gotta disagree on this one.

Page 7: Invicta is a RIPOFF

ONE bad watch is "oh well, suck it up"

Beyond that, the company is at fault for bad QC, but there's also personal responsibility for

continuing to buy the brand. Unless you got excellent CS on the earlier issues.

I own about 6 Invictas; only my first one was bad. I got rudimentary CS on it the first time around, alot of "we'll see what we can do" ; in the end it went out for swiss repair, took

almost 3 months to get back and it came back from service with more problems and i'm not

getting any help on the re-repair. other then the stock answer of "send it in again for

another 2 month turnaround". I know from several other members, the CS dept had a few others that were returned to invicta in working order, and were shipped to these customers

as an exchange. I requested the same courtesy. so far no reply.

Belated welcome to you as a Watch Geek. There is a lot of information here. And some fun

too.

Four watches with problems is a bummer. I'd take things one watch at a time. Or call

Invicta, pleasantly report what is going on, and maybe ask if you can possibly bubble wrap

all of them carefully together to save money on shipping and handling. I know it's a pain to

make trips to the Post Office, get everything lined up ready to mail, and pay for insurance on the shipment too (I recommend that). Hard to know what to suggest without knowing all the

details, compadré. But definitely don't let it get the best of you. I've had to mail back a

couple of watches over two years time. One the crown fell off in my hand, like what

happened to you. The watch was dead on arrival (DoA). The other was that I simply didn't

like the way it felt or looked on my wrist. But I have had good luck with the majority of my Invictas, Stührling Originals, Androids, Casios, Swiss Legend Neptunes, etc. This is one of

the risks we do by shopping for stuff on TV, the Internet, or by phone. Sometimes you still

can't beat the convenience and "realness" of seeing the actual purchase in a retail outlet in

your hand and seeing it with your own eyes.

Again, you're more important than any watch in a collection. Hang in there. Your luck will

improve. All the best!

If you don't want to go the route of sending in your watches,

I would suggest taking them to a local Watchmaker, or Jeweler, as they could likely take

care of your needs, for a lot less in both cash, and time. Replacing a crown, if it has only unscrewed, is an easy fix, as well as replacing a screw for a

band. So you do have other options.

Welcome to the site, and feel free to ask about any specific problems you may have, as we are all here to help each other, and may have the answers you're looking for.

sorry about your problems...

well once again sorry about what is happening to you...I have bought to date from jan. of

this yr about 13 watches so far and knock on wood...no problems with any of them so

far...before you bash all invicta's give them a chance to fix them...you have just had a run of bad luck with them this can be remedied...with some time and work...they have to send

them back to a foreign country to get them repaired so its going to take some time...most of

the time this doesnt happen to their timepieces...most of the watches that I have bought so

far are of the higher end type... all invicta's.....but if you work closely with rebecca at invicta...she will help you...above all keep your chin up...and be nice to the invicta care

people....being a nice person to them will get you alot further with fixing your watches than

bashing and cussing at them....from what I can see they sell 1000's of watches by the

month...so the 5 or 6% of problems that they have are well within the acceptable range of expected problems as a whole... keep your chin up...I promise you it will get better....and

just so you know I am not a rich person either...I am on full SS disability...while I can

survive on this...I work as well partime to pay for my watch obsession....thanks to the value

pays at the shop...I have been able to afford some pretty expensive timepieces so far...I

have been able to spend about 3 thous.so far since jan of this yr...and their retail value is well over 12 to 14 thous...proving that anyone can be a watch collector...it just takes

watching the shows on the shop and waiting for the good deals to show up...and by the way

Page 11: Invicta is a RIPOFF

welcome to the forums....

Ryan I would suggest that when you go to purchase your next Invicta's you get them when

they first air,I know they will be at the higher price but the trade off is worth it.I suspect that most, NOT ALL but most issues with Invicta is one of three reasons.#1 getting a return, you

cant always tell if it has been re shrinked wrapped.outside of the members of this forum I

believe people tend to abuse a return a little bit,do things with it that they wouldnt dare do

to their own watch since they are not keeping it.#2 every time a batch of watches is moved

or shipped it runs the risk of being damaged.the newest watches will have been moved the least amount of times.#3 damaged in route to your address, watch's do suffer abuse here as

well without any visible damage to the box a flat fall from 15 feet would really shake some

hands loose.I've noticed here on this forum that a lot of these issues are on watches that

people got for a steal of a price which would fit them into what I have suggested. There are several members that post their newly aired Invicta's without ever hearing of a bad one.But

also keep in mind that Invicta like any brand is going to have issues that is their fault with

no one else to blame.Good Luck

Unfortunately Invicta brought this on to themselves, they get mocked on other forums and

aren't even considered a true watch company especially with the latest Swiss Made or not Swiss Made issues. Their QC and CS dept.have been a problem on this forum since the

beginning so no one to blame but Invicta. Only thing I can say is you being new here and

complaining about Invicta isn't going to gain you any friends here, but you do have every

right to voice your opinion or disappointment with Invicta. Good luck with getting them

fixed, hope you turn out better than I did.

Maybe you should save a little more money and then you could afford to send it in for $40 instead of buying so many watches. I have over 40 watches in my collection, most of them

Invictas and I have had to send in one watch and that one was because it had a broken

crystal. They will make it right if you send it in, but it takes a while.

I don't see one "hostile" post here. You must remember, some people come here just to

trash a certain brand and troll the board, so with you being pretty new, naturally you are going to get tossed in with said "trolls". Now, I am in no way saying you are a troll, but with

your thread title, you are inviting some hostility. Looks to me that most replies are courteous

and friendly. You would probably get much more help had you simply titled your thread a

little differently. That being said, I hope you get some help from Invicta. __________________

movement related. This does seem like a run of bad luck !!!

I agree most replies have been courteous and have provided some sound advice and suggestions. Please take them to heart and good luck. I own many, many Invicta and have

My advice would be to speak to someone at Invicta and see what they can do for you and

then stop buying Invictas. Obviously, you have had a run of bad luck with your purchases.

Like many others, I've never had a problem with any Invicta I own. I did lose a screw from a SANIII once, but that could happen with any watch.

As to the "hostility", I don't really see it, but when you post a thread where you say that

Invicta is a "RIPOFF" (in capital letters no less), people will tend to respond in kind. Seems to me that people have been pretty civil in their responses.

I wish you luck in getting your problems resolved.

Welcome to the forum .... the title of your thread shows that you are very frustrated and

upset. That's understandable, but sometimes a little tactfulness can go a long way. For

example, a title like "Four Invictas with problems" .... and then in your post provide the details of exactly what those problems are, and then you will still make your point, and you

would receive much more favorable responses.

I had an Invicta in which the crown came out in my hand. I sent it to Invicta along with my

check. Ten weeks later it came back, it was broke worse than when I sent it in. I called, they were sympathetic, I sent it in again (at my expense), they expedited and got it back to me

in four weeks this time, and it was fixed perfectly. But, it took three and a half months and

over $60 of shipping expenses.

A few months later I had another Invicta in which the crown came out. This time I went to a

local watch repair shop. The guy fixed the watch perfectly for me for twenty bucks ... while I

waited. I've went back to him many times since then. So, it can be very worthwhile to

establish a relationship with a good local watch guy if you can find one.

Good luck on getting all of your issues taken care of.

Sorry about your watch. I don't think anyone was offended by your post. Some people have

been desensitized regarding the quality control issues and it does not seem like a big deal

anymore.

Just get them fixed or get your money back, I myself have had good luck with older Invicta

Ryan, welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your rash of bad luck. There has been a lot

of tips & suggestions already posted, and I will add my two cents. In the future, if you have a problem or question, get it posted here as quick as you can. There is a huge amount of

knowledge out there, and most of us want to help. Someone will reply with great advice.

Others will agree and/ or have more suggestions, just like in this thread. If you do this

before you've had the piece for 30 days, you will have time to do what needs to be done.

Don't sit on it and get frustrated, ask your fellow geeks - they want to help!

I will not buy any more Invicta watches. I have 25 and most of them are falling apart and

some say swiss but are not. I guess you get what you pay for and there are better watches.

Get the watches fixed local, The CS at invicta is not up to par with most other brands.

My thought exactly. You have the money on your fixed income to spend the dough to buy several watches, but you can't pony up a few extra bucks for shipping to get a free repair?

Hmmm....

Depending on the various problems, a local shop may be able to help for less than what

you'd pay Invicta for shipping and repair. Unfortunately, the local repair option can get quite iffy - especially if Invicta specific parts are needed. Many watch repair facilities won't accept

Invictas for repair because of the difficulty and time involved in getting parts from Invicta.

Wouldn't be particularly concerned with warranty violations.

Sorry you had that kind of results from Invicta watches.

You could begin by maybe describing some of the issues and maybe

get some assistance from the many experts that frequent the forum.

Also, there are a few other watch brands that are also discussed

here. So, maybe you could try one, or two of them. I'd recommend

Android, Renato, NFW, for example.

Finally, it does not matter how many posts you have here in order for

it to be OK to post a negative/critical comment on any brand

discussed here. While there will always be those that come to the

Page 26: Invicta is a RIPOFF

defense of one brand, or the other (I've never figured out why

because it's only a watch, not a family member), as long as you

respect others and use civil language and follow the TOS of the

forum, you are probably good to go.

I have not had bad luck with Invicta watches. I'm more careful with Invicta because of all the bad CS press. On the other hand I have bought 10+ watches from a brand I won't name

and sent back 3 because of problems. That's 30% bad quality! The reason I won't name the

company is because their CS is so good that they immediately responded to my problems. I

believe that's the difference between Invicta and the "others". Bad quality and Bad CS is just plan BAD! so people complain. Once again I've seen only quality from Invicta so hang in

there.

I am sorry you feel this way. I also have had problems with new models that I had ordered

even the Reserve line models. Upset yes, but, I have to say that for each one I had a problem with they made good and have fixed the problem at no charge(re: waived the

$28.00). I am glad that their CS and Service Department have dramatically improved in the

last 6 months time. For me, my opinion of the brand is still positive, and am happy to report

that they are improving their performance in out-of-box failures.

Still would like to see Invicta have holdback inventory so that in the event of a DOA they

could replace with a new model within a week's turnaround as opposed to having to go back

to the Motherland for an 8 week hiatus. __________________

I agree! Swiss or Far East doesn't make a the difference. When your putting out thousands

Sorry for your losses!

Sorry to hear you are having so many problems! I had a problem with my Corduba & if you

are tenacious and stay after the Customer service you will get them fixed. It is unfortunate

but you are dealing wih Chinese workers who are not paid much to produce these watches

so your bound to have problems. Thank God for the 5 year warranties because we certainly need them. Don't give up on Invicta they aren't all bad, you just hit the wall & it hurts.

Do what I did. Just go down to Invicta totin your six gun, enter the building, take the first person you see hostage and demand that your watches be fixed or

replaced immediately!! Trust me. Works everytime!

I would not call that an accurate statement. The majority, maybe, but not "every". But,

clearly this is an Invicta-centric forum.

Invicta makes some great designs at some great pricepoints, but their CS leaves a lot to be

desired.....Rebecca , the WG's direct contact @ invicta was the solution to that...at least for

most of us.

Page 40: Invicta is a RIPOFF

some fans of invicta are so die-hard that invicta can do no wrong, most of us are realists, that the company has usually-good product but needs some work in some areas.

JS and Mike D. , the owners of this Forum, started this forum before either was associated

with Invicta, but Mike's now a direct employee of Invicta, and Jim is in a sales position with most of his time and product being Invicta.

In Addition, Invicta sponsors this forum and (we are told) monitors it, even if they don't

respond to every issue.

I hope nothing i've said here violates ToS

Let me be even more clear.I would love for Invicta to turn things around

and take responsibility for their own issues.I fell in love with Invicta, but after a few disappointing episodes I wised up.I would love one day to be able to

purchase a retail Invicta and feel confident in doing so...

Sorry if you interpreted my comments as hostile. I didn't mean for you to, but you asked for some input and we try to be honest around here. Sorry for your trouble with Invicta. They

will take care of you but it does take a lengthy amount of time. If you've only had your

watches for about a year, they should all be pretty much under the warranty. Call Rebecca

and she will help you.

I'm sure Invicta will fix the problems but it might be cheaper to bring it to your local watch

maker/repair man. Thats what I did.

came off in my hand....I can’t tell you why I’m not familiar with the construction. The 6043

and the 0054 have band issues. I have been waiting on the 6043 screws for about 4 months now. The 6883 has an issue with changing the date. I called customer service and

they told me I needed to send it in. I’m sorry for coming off like a you know what I’m just disappointed and frustrated. I don’t want to cause waves I visit watchgeeks everyday....I

bought my bolt from a member here...thanks again

Hey there Ryan, sorry about taking so long to get back to you.

Wow, it seems your thread has ruffled some feathers around here.

Some members well take any oppertunity to tell you over and over again that

Invicta is not to be taken seriously as a watch company...yet they keep buying

Invicta's products.

The best advice i've read in this thread came from long time member, Charlie B.

He's often blunt, but always a straight shooter...he also has one hell of a sense of

humor.

Ok, the issue with your 6883 Reserve Pro-Diver please try to tell us with some

detail just what it's doing.

The 6043 Subaqua Noma III seems to be a problem that Invictas parts dept. or

fellow Watchgeek can help you with...small parts are always the hardest to obtain.

The 0054 Vintage Mechanical, I might be able to help you with...tell me what you need.

The 0195 TTV Bolt (5050c) now there's the tough one.

Sense you bought that from a fellow member it has no valid warrenty as they are

not transferable. Now if the crown simply separated from the crown stem (it's a two piece affair) the

repair should be a simple one.

You can have it done locally or at a larger regional repair center like Universal

Watch Repair in Michagan. www.universalwatch.net

I'm just kiddin Bro. Couldn't resist the urge to add some humor to this thread.

Like most say, give'em a chance. You may be surprised.

Weapons? Taking hostages? Threats? I hope you're the only WG member who found such

irresponsible remarks 'humorous". __________________

Well, per TOS, it is against the rules to call others names and i resent being called an

"Invicta bootlicker" cuz i buy their products. __________________

I didn't respond when I first saw this yesterday.. I thought it would quickly fade away. I can't resist now. We all sound like a squabbling womens sewing group (No offense to the

women sewers here).... He said this and he said that.. He stole my Avatar.. Really??? Is this

really what has become of this site? I resisted responding yesterday because I knew the

thread would turn into this. The first couple of responses of I'm sorry to hear it and you

should contact Rebecca should have been enough. If the instigators are truly trolling don't respond and let the thread die. That's just my honest opinion.
