profitable ‘business’ model of ‘cyberbullyin! for profit’, publish false and offensie

information about minors, teena!ers, adults and businesses on webpa!es that are often

accompanied by photo!raphs and identifyin! details. "ipoff"eport.com also publishes

e%tremely racist and homophobic material, offensie material about reli!ious !roups, public

fi!ures and ‘celebrities’. &hile the material about public fi!ures appears to be !ien a low

'oo!le pa!e ran(, the names of children, teena!ers, ordinary people and small business

owners are contained in snippets displayed at or near the top of the 'oo!le search results

#)*"+s$. These snippets contain names and location details couched in terms such as ‘ripoff’,

‘fraud, ‘pedophile’, ‘scam’, ‘whore’, ‘slut, ‘prostitute’, ‘s(an(’, ‘murderer’, ‘bitch’, ‘fa!!ot’,

‘liar’, ‘dru! abuser’, ‘cunt’, ‘stal(er’, ‘IV’ and-or ‘AID)’, and other dero!atory terms

includin! false accusation of crimes.

to remoal reuests, 'oo!le proides a number of e%cuses and ictims must find an ‘ex-

gratia’ payment for Google in order to ensure the material is remoed from the 'oo!le inde%

and ameliorate the dan!er towards their children and-or sae their lielihoods and businesses.

/urthermore, "ipoff"eport.com publishes re!istered trade names and copyri!hted

photo!raphs without permission and claims a copyri!ht oer the webpa!es. 'oo!le is aware

of the practise of these websites and indeed, it has stated that "ipoff"eport.com has

‘unacceptable business practises’. 0et, it seres adertisements on the webpa!es includin!

those with offensie material and that endan!er children.

The uestion is why does 'oo!le prioritise "ipoff"eport.com in its search results and why

does it sere adertisements on webpa!es that it has stated hae unacceptable business

practices1 The answer is to ma%imise its reenue at the e%pense of the user and the

companies and businesses that adertise with it. This is e%plained in these two information

These ideos and the research in this report demonstrate that 'oo!le is connin! their

adertisers and destroyin! their ‘users’ reputation as a method of ma%imisin! their reenue.

"ipoff"eport.com earns its substantial reenue #stated by the editor to be seeral million

dollars a year$ from two sources: Adertisin! #mostly throu!h 'oo!le$ and payments from

ictims to the website to 4rehabilitate4 their reputation in the 'oo!le search results or remoe

the false material. If a person cannot pay to hae the false material remoed their life is

ruined because, as stated by 'oo!le, their search en!ine is often 'the first place people look

for information that's published' about a person.

the 6ommunications Decency Act #section 789$ they punish liti!ants in other countries by

This report is an e%planation of how 'oo!le and "ipoff"eport.com profits from

cyberbullyin!. I do not include material about Australians in the e%amples simply because I

could be sued under our defamation laws. The e%ception is screenshots on our #former as of

)eptember ?th 7938$ +rime =inister. I hae erased the offensie statements and indicated that

I beliee them to be false. The adertisements are or!anised by company and time frame and,

since they are ery lar!e files, are stored in the public section of my cloud drie. The lin(s to

some e%amples of this offensie material are listed in attachment 3. The list of companies that

I hae documented adertisin! on "ipoff"eport.com and download lin(s to folders

containin! the screenshots their adertisements on offensie material are listed in attachments

This all started because "ipoff"eport.com sold off my identity to a cyberbully almost yearsa!o. I absolutely did not want to liti!ate. I ;ust wanted it remoed. I notified and pleaded with

"ipoff"eport.com and 'oo!le for almost two years before I filed proceedin!s. 'oo!le has

spent literally hundreds of thousands of dollars and almost three years tryin! to brea( me

rather than @ minutes remoin! the false material. Althou!h I refer to my e%perience in as an

e%ample of the effect of cyberbullyin!, I stress that this pro;ect is separate from my case. I

e%pect that 'oo!le will complain to my lawyers but I cannot i!nore the fact that children are

bein! cyberbullied and placed in dan!er because identifyin! details appear at the top of a

'oo!le search for their name or that of their parents. 'oo!le and "ipoff"eport.com are

destroyin! the lies of childrenB The abuse and endan!erment of children and adults is

p"ate #ebruary 2014$ The first ersion of this report was disseminated in Au!ust 7938. In

)eptember 7938, after complaints from seeral lar!e Australian corporations and seeral

multinational corporations 'oo!le remoed all adertisin! from the Australian serers for

"ipoff"eport.com. oweer, adertisin! remained on the 5)-5-6anadian serers.

=oreoer, adertisements for specific companies #for e%ample !lobal ehicle manufacturers

and eFay$ and that were remoed by 'oo!le from the Australian serers due to complaints

remained on the Gorthern emisphere serers. I bou!ht a simple V+G pro!ram that chan!es

my I+ address and, once a!ain started ta(in! screenshots of adertisements on the website as

it appeared in the 5), 5, and 6anada.. These were collated, uploaded onto my cloud drieand the companies and corporations listed on attachment @.

"ipoff"eport.com has a history of destroyin! anyone who stands up to them either by

utilisin! the websites hi!h pa!es ran( on 'oo!le to publish manufactured ‘crimes’,

a!!ressie liti!ation, or both. In Goember 7938 "ipoffreport.com attempted to seiHe the

domains of my fellow cyberbullyin! actiist, =ichael "oberts. They were ultimately

unsuccessfull.3 e chose to fi!ht this but I too( a different iew. )ince I am Australian, hae

no assets outside the country #and almost nothin! left here after almost 8 years of liti!ationa!ainst 'oo!le$, and the le!al basis on which 5) court ;ud!ments would be honoured here is

ery narrow, the success of any le!al attempts to !a! me from in the 5) )tate of AriHona was

close to impossible to achiee. Interestin!ly, this is e%actly the basis on which

"ipoff"eport.com has, for years, deterred non 5) le!al actions.7

6. I don't live in the United States; What if I sue RipoffReport.com outside the United States?

Sometimes RipoffReport.com receives letters from overseas threatening to bring a

lawsuit against us in Europe, Canada, the Middle East or other places with laws thatdon't protect freedom of speech as strongly as the United States does. hese letters

usually say the same thing! "U.S. law might protect websites such as RipoffReport.com,

but those laws do not apply in my home country. So, we are going to bring a lawsuit in

our country and RipoffReport.com won't be able to claim immunity under the C#$." $re

*udgments, but this is no longer true.

-ast year in /0/, the U.S. adopted a new "anti1libel tourism" law, 2 U.S.C. 3 40/,

which generally prohibits $-- U.S. courts from honoring foreign libel5defamation

*udgments if they conflict with the free speech rights guaranteed by our 6irst $mendment.

n addition, the new law specifically prohibits U.S. courts from honoring foreign

libel5defamation *udgments against website operators if the claims at issue would have

been barred under U.S. law. See 2 U.S.C. 3 40/7c8.

2er the years "ipoff"eport.com has employed a series of ‘featured writers’ seeral of whom

appear to be battlin! specific health issues, to assist with its actiities of blac(mail and

e%tortion. /rom 2ctober 7938 my name was lin(ed by the ‘featured writer’, Darren =

=eade with a number of alle!ed ‘crimes’ ran!in! from prosecutorial misconduct in the 5)A,

fraud with the Australian 9 minutes teleision show and the )ydney =ornin! erald,

conspiracy to coer up a murder that occurred in the 5)A in 7993 and rapin! babiesB

In December, tired of spendin! hours tryin! to trac( down contacts to lobby, and with

feedbac( that showed 'oo!le were i!norin! their clients’ instructions to remoe their ads, I

decided to tweet e%amples of adertisements on offensie material to the 5 !oernment,

charities and other clients. It appears that this was successful. In the first wee( of January

793 'oo!le purportedly withdrew its ma;or adertisin! form the "ipoff"eport.com serers

on a !lobal basis. oweer, 'oo!le still retained a ‘fin!er in the pie’ because they ne!lected

to inform their affiliates. The adertisements currently runnin! on "ipoff"eport.com are of a

much lower status and clearly the website has lost a lar!e proportion of its 7 million plus

annual adertisin! reenue. +redictably, "ipoff"eport.com e%acted reen!e and =ichael

"oberts and I were then falsely accused of defamin! ;ud!es for the purpose of ‘sha(in!

down’ 'oo!le. I hae included a section on the aftermath of the adertisin! lobby to this

updated report and proide eidence that neither =ichael nor I defamed the ;ud!es.

one of its alued and trusted Internet princes. Ale%a lists "ipoff"eport.com in the top

*d =a!edson boasted in Forbes that their annual reenue of seeral million dollars comes

mostly from adertisin!. The remainder of its income is deried by e%ploitin! its prominent

The business practices of Ocentric, as presented by the eidence before this6ourt, are appallin!. Ocentric appears to pride itself on hain! created a forumfor defamation. Go chec(s are in place to ensure that only reliable information is

publiciHed. Ocentric retains no !eneral counsel to determine whether its users areaailin! themseles of its serices for the purpose of tortious or ille!al conduct.
