To provide leadership in the development of policies and strategies that create an enabling environment for competitiveness, equity and enterprise development

International Trade and Economic Development Division• DDG - Tshediso Matona• Purpose:

To develop trade and investment links with key economies globally, and promote economic development, through negotiating preferential trade agreements, supporting a strong and equitable multilateral trading system, and fostering economic integration with the continent within the Nepad framework

• Business units:– International trade development – International trade administration– African economic development

Consumer and Corporate Regulation Division• DDG - Astrid Ludin• Purpose:

To develop and implement coherent, predictable and transparent regulatory solutions that provide access to redress for investors, inventors and consumers and that provide policy coherence and certainty, and efficient regulatory services for business

The Enterprise Organisation Division• CEO - Mahlape Mohale• Purpose:

To stimulate and facilitate the development of sustainable competitive enterprises through the provision of effective and accessible supply-side incentive measures

• Business units:– Incentive administration – New incentive development– Business development and after-care

Trade and Investment SA Division• Acting CEO - Mxolisi Matshamba• Purpose:

To provide strategic vision and direction to key growth sectors in the economy, increase the level of direct investment flow, and develop South Africa’s capacity to export into various markets

• Business units:– Export development and promotion – Investment promotion and facilitation– Customised sector programmes

Marketing Division• DDG - Manana Moroka• Purpose:

– Promote the take-up of the dti’s products and services by economic citizens and to position the dti in the minds of economic citizens as a partner in economic development

• Business units:– Marketing communication – Distribution management– Brand management

Group Systems and Support Services Division• Hamida Fakira• Purpose:

To design, facilitate and implement dti-wide operational management systems so as to enable the dti group (divisions and Cotii) to deliver on the organisational objectives and achieve legislative and regulatory compliance

• Business units:– Human resource management and development – Financial management– Information technology management– Compliance and corporate governance

Office of the DG• Purpose:

– To provide strategic support to the DG, manage the dti’s strategic planning process, and monitor and evaluate the achievement of the dti’s objectives
