• Arthropods are numerous and diverse – Insects (beetles, flies, moths, earwigs, aphids)

– Arachnids (spiders, ticks, mites, scorpions)

– Crustaceans (crayfish, crabs, lobsters, sowbugs)

– Centipedes, millipedes

• Exoskeleton is a hard outer shell

• Jointed appendages, segmented body

• Not arthropods: slugs, snails, earthworms
