How to use as Interface Unit
This product will work as communiceation interface unit, if there is USB connection.
connect this product to PC's USB port (or external USB HUB)
connect this product to the communication line
This document omits details for communication interface. Refer guidance/manuals of monitoring
software.
How to use as Flash-Writer Unit
This product will work as Flash-Writer unit, if no USB connection. We intend to use as following:
7 de 15
Downloading microcontroller's firmware which is provided by e-mail, or web.
This operation is done at the office desk, with PC (and USB connection).
Writing outdoor unit's microcontroller firmware, with connecting cable provided together.
This operation is done at the customer's place, without PC (and no USB connection).
Otherwise, you can write outdoor unit's microcontroller firmware with PC Flash-Writer sofware. (This
product is used only as communication interface, not flash-writer) This case, you must carry PC and this
product to the place near outdoor units (and find the power outlet). You must get PC's Flash-Writer
software, provided separatedly.
Restriction of stand-alone Flash-Writer
There are some restrictions for stand-alone flash-writer of this product:
There must be 1 on 1 connection between the target unit and this product's.
This product can not operate if there are plural units (e.g, indoor units or system controllers).
This product can hold only one microcontroller's firmware.
Especially, GHP H/J1 type outdoor unit contains TWO microcontroller's in one PCB: this product
can write only one (not both) microcontroller's firmware. You need PC's software or two Flash-
Writer3, for writing both microcontroller in the GHP H/J1 type outdoor unit.
Air Conditioners supported by this product
This product supports only following air conditioners:
PAC outdoor units
some U type outdoor units (which uses Flash Microcontroller: 3WAY/Water units only)
all outdoor units A/B type (or later ones)
GHP outdoor units
all outdoor units H type (or later ones)
PAC/GHP indoor units
EQ type
NOTE: GHP G type outdoor units are NOT SUPPORTED (connection cable is not compatible)
How to download microcontroller's firmware onto this product
Microcontroller's firmware file is usually provided with suffix .mot .hex .fwi .
