    ASSIGNMENT 1

Styling goes much deeper than just creating pretty pictures, really a stylists job is to sell not just a brand or

product, but a lifestyle. In a sense one could consider this job close to marketing. There are various kinds of stylists

and each has different roles to play. The fashion stylist jobs involve borrowing several garments for the celebrity

to try on before she chooses one. Fashion stylist jobs are highly competitive, but are certainly possible with

    both talent and determination.

Editorial –   The form of styling which people are most familiar with, this involves styling images for media

     publications such as fashion magazines.

Commercial –   This type of styling requires presentation for advertisements, such as television commercials,

    magazine adverts or even catalogues.

Wardrobe –  Wardrobe styling is the dressing of television or film characters and it involves a lot of research. To do

this job a stylist must have a good knowledge of eras and styles from different countries around the globe. Essential, is

a clear vision and understanding of character assessment, as an actor’s role is directly enhanced by the clothes he/she

    is adorned with.

Celebrity  –  This is dressing a famous person both on and off screen. One of the most powerful types of marketing is

celebrity endorsement as most people aspire to be like their favourite singer or actor. The concept is exactly the same

with celebrity styling, which feeds a lifestyle message to all who want to replicate the image of their favourite

    celebrity.

Show  –   Show styling is high pressure, fast paced model dressing for catwalk shows. Although working at speed,

every care must be taken to ensure that all garments are impeccably presented.

Personal styling/image consulting  –   This type of styling has become very popular in recent years. With the ever

increasing pressure to look our best, individuals, and even companies will enlist the help of a stylist to advice on the

colours, cuts and styles which best suit an individual.

Visual merchandising  –  A direct form of marketing, the stylist must conceptualize, design, and implement window

or in-store displays for shops. Visual merchandising also includes how products are portrayed on websites.

Prop & Set  –  Prop and set styling sets the scene for a shoot, theatre production, television show or film. This can be

anything from dressing a whole room for an interior design magazine, to sourcing vintage or hard to find items to

enhance a fashion shoot. It can also be designing the backdrop of a television show, or dressing a room for a scene in a

    film.

Food  –  Food stylists arrange food in a manner that is most appealing to the eye. This is done on television cookery

shows, film sets, and of course recipe books and magazines.

Areas of interest –  Personal Styling and In-store Styling

The areas of styling that I am interested in are In-store styling/ visual merchandising and personal styling.

Visual Merchandising is the art of displaying merchandise in a manner that is appealing to the eyes of the customer.

It sets the context of the merchandise presenting them in a way that would convert the window shoppers to buyers of

the product. The look of the products, its feel and music plays a very important aspect and every in-store stylist must

     pay high attention to that.

Visual merchandising includes window displays, signs, interior displays, cosmetic promotions and any other special

sales promotions taking place. When I see window displays, they inspire me enough to make a strong career in it. I

like to organise things and multitask, other than that I have a flair for design and colour. I visualise the entire scenario

before I start working on anything.

I am also interested in exploring my career as a personal stylist. I want to deal closely with my clients. I want limited

clients and give them quality. In order to achieve this one should have good communication skills, be a good listener,

be organised, update clients, punctual and charismatic.

Areas of work for fashion stylists

Fashion stylist jobs can be found at movie studios and video production groups.  Public relations groups,

advertising agencies and magazine publishers, employ fashion stylists on a full-time basis. There are also in-store

stylists also known as Visual Merchandisers that work in retail stores. Apart from stores they can work on events,

    music concerts.

Personal stylists take up celebrities as their clients and cater to their fashion needs. They can also do image

consultations, wardrobe management, personal shopping. Personal shopping is a freelance job and one does not get

complete job security, thus one can also become a fashion buyer for a retail store .  As a fashion buyer, one

typically selects suppliers; negotiate deals, purchase products, monitor contracts and review purchase records.

    Tips and tricks

    1.  Getting a qualification and years of experience in one company in the required field would give an

    upper hand

    2.  Not fear experimenting with new clothes i.e. Be the trend setter.

    3.  Taking time out to know your clients in depth and asking them everyday what is their agenda, where

they are going, who they are meeting etc.

    4.  Updating yourself with the latest happenings in the fashion business.

    5.  Creating an inspirational mood board that one can look into to stay focused or be inspired and looking

up designers history to know how they made it big.

    6.  Using accessories appropriately to enhance the clothing.

    7.  Organising a planner for client meets.

    8.  Being a good listener.

    9.  Being warm and friendly so that the client’s feel comfortable

    10. Building client’s confidence and not forcing them to try something they are not comfortable in.

    11. Log book for all store details, this would help me knowing which shop to go and for what kind of

    clothing.

    12. Have a vanity style kit  –   safety pins, rubber bands, clip-ons, hair clips, fake nails, black and white

thread and a needle, buttons, double stick tape, to go eraser pen, make up sponge, roller etc.

    13. Having patience and not expecting quick returns.

    ASSIGNMENT 2

    Fashion Icon –  Vera Wang

“A woman is never sexier than when she is comfortable in her clothes”

Vera Wang is known around the world for her amazing bridal gown designs  and her ability to transform a bride

on her wedding day. With over 25 years of experience in the fashion industry, Vera Wang has become one of the most

desired designers by some of Hollywood’s hottest celebrities.

    Vera Wang

Throughout her 25 years in the industry, Vera has worked with a number of highly respected companies. For 16

years, Vera Wang acted as Senior Fashion Editor for world renowned magazine, Vogue.

After gaining the knowledge and experience it took to work for a fast-paced fashion magazine, Vera Wang decided it

was time to use her skills in an alternative avenue. In 1985, Vera left Vogue and began working as the design director

    for Ralph Lauren.

Vera Wang is without a doubt is one of the most famous names in the fashion world, and she’s earned her worldwide

fashion icon status through a lot of hard work, determination, and the use of her natural skills and an eye for design.

Ready to wear Clothing 2014, Vera Wang

For legions of women, she is considered the queen of bridal design, creating some of the most breathtaking, high-

quality bridal gowns in the bridal industry today. Her contemporary approach to wedding gown design changed the

face of bridal fashion and all that it is typically known for.

Fashion was never a new thing to Vera Wang, who worked hard for 16 years for the world-renowned Vogue magazine

as a senior fashion editor. Originally aiming to be a figure skater, Vera instead devoted her entire career to fashion, accepting a job from Ralph Lauren after leaving Vogue. Early on, however, she did design costumes for famous figure

skaters, such as two-time Olympic medallist. Nancy Kerrigan and five-time World champion Michelle Kwan. While

working for fellow icon Ralph Lauren, she designed everything from lingerie to sportswear, and eventually began her

own line of bridal wear, which would later become a central part of her design legacy.

    Media and Celebrity Exposure

Vera’s passion for mixing sleek, chic, modern design with romantic and vintage style has made her one of the

most sought-after designers by celebrities and consumers alike, and has transformed her brand into one of the most

recognizable names amidst the sea of heavy-hitter style gurus. Mariah Carey, Sharon Stone, and Melania Trump are

only a few of the countless celebrities who adore Vera’s designs.   Victoria Beckham, Kate Hudson, and Chelsea

Clinton all wore her wedding gown creations, and she’s been mentioned and featured in a handful of film a nd

television programs over the years. Project Runway, The Apprentice, and Ugly Betty  all featured her as a guest, and

she appeared as herself in movies such as First Daughter, staring famous actress Katie Holmes , and The September

Issue. The film The September Issue was a documentary that focused on Anna Wintour, Vogue’s editor-in-chief, and

the drama that surrounded the making of the September 2007 issue of the magazine. Additionally, she’s been

referenced repeatedly in pop culture, from Sex and the City and West Wing, to the movie Bride Wars.

Unique ness in Vera Wang’s style

Vera Wang has created a unique aspirational world that alludes to sensuality and youthful sophistication. Intricate

draping and a nonchalant sense of style characterize the Vera Wang aesthetic. The fabric she uses is very high end

and handpicked. Vera Wang also has an amazing eye for detail and design. Not everyone can keep re-inventing

ways to use fabric, patterns and details on wedding gowns. Vera Wang has proven to innovation, which makes her

    such a great designer.

    Personal Opinion

What I li ke about the designs is that she revolves around one thing — sophistication. This is the highlight of all of her

designs. Although both vintage and modern fashions come into play with each of her creations, there is always a clear

bent toward modern chic. Her look is all about easygoing layers, cool attitude, and timeless elegance.

Along with her bridal looks, her contemporary causal lines are known for sophistication with an edge. Each

piece is infused with trendy, funky flair, yet never gaudy or too over the top.  Her brand encompasses a range of

equally stylish jewellery, fragrances, and eyewear. For everyday cool elegance or a chic bridal look, Vera Wang’s

separates and bridal gowns offer the epitome of sexy sophistication for the modern woman.

Vera Wang’s Signature Style –  Handmade El egant Br idal Gowns

Vera Wang’s up-to-date interpretation of classic designs is unlike any other fashion designer in the business. Her

elegant, tasteful wedding gown designs are held in such high regard that they literally cost thousands and thousands of

dollars. Handmade with impeccable detailing, each authentic piece from her collection is original and exclusive.

Although many designers try imitating Vera’s one-of-a kind style, there is no other designer in the world with the

ability to design the way she does. Her pieces are expensive because of the time and effort she puts into each one.

    Vera Wang’s Spring Collection 2014

Type of person would wear Vera Wang

When a person chooses Vera Wang, according to me, that individual is someone that looks for quality, style

and grace, as Vera Wang always says "I dress the individualist who understands style." Today the Vera Wang

brand not only designs high-end wedding dresses, but also appeals to the masses in a more affordable

approachable light. When Vera Wang was asked if this type of strategy would dilute the luxury brand, she stated,

“It’s democratic.” Instead of offering a fit for only one target audience the Vera Wang brand is now able to hit various

sets of consumers and meet their needs for fashion —  wedding and everyday wear at a price point that works for them.

Vera Wang isn’t branding only luxury wedding couture, but instead it’s broadened this to women who place a high

importance on fashion. Starting from everyday fashion, work fashion, party fashion, and wedding fashion, it’s

still a very targeted strategy, but it includes a whole lot more opportunity for the brand to be successful. What was

once thought of as dilution is now an opportunity to grow a brand and hit more customers in a way that fits their

lifestyle. It’s how Vera Wang grew from creating one dress to outfitting the world —  one stitch at a time.

    VALENTINO - RED

Think Valentino: Think l uxury. Thi nk elegance. Thi nk red carpet.

Valentino Clemente Ludovico Garavani  is more than a well-known Italian Fashion Designer: to most fashion

students he is a God. Born on May 11th, 1932, this simple Saint has developed several different fashion labels

throughout his 5 decades of work; such as Valentino, Valentino Roma, R.E.D. Valentino and, most popularly,

Valentino Garavani. Commonly referred to as only Valentino, he was the founder of the Valentino Spa Brand as well.

When the VFG(Valentino Fashion Group) was first established, its primary focus was directed towards high

production numbers and ultimately, high revenue. Over the years, their focus has changed. The group now approaches

the industry with a fashion-driven focus. They are more interested in offering consumers unique and one of a kind

    designs.

In addition to the Valentino label itself, the Valentino Group has acquired a number of other well-known labels

like Hugo Boss and Missoni. The group operates in over 100 countries around the world with over 1200 boutiques and

208 shops. Since he released his first line in 1959 Garavani Valentino has made a significant impact on the fashion

industry. He is a true fashion icon of the 20 th  century and has helped shape the image of men and women of the

    21st century.

    Valentino –  2014 Spring/Summer Collection

Valentino has long been popular among European royalty, American socialites, and celebrities dressing famous

women for more than four decades, including Jackie Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor, Halle Berry, Jennifer Garner, Julia

Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Naomi Watts, Claire Danes, Gwen Stefani, Lindsay Lohan, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

The Valentino Red became one of the pillars of his collections, according to him; it is the only colour worthy of

competing with black and white). His trademarked red colour formula is a combination of 100% magenta, 100%

    yellow and 10% black.

Valentino became known for his red dresses, in the bright shade that became known in the fashion industry as”Valentino red”

Although Valentino often drew on a voluptuous, nuanced colour palette, Valentino also used areas of flat, vivid

colour to transform the shape of a dress, such as the poppy red that became his trademark. The colour was reportedly

inspired by the opera in Barcelona; as a teenager, he marvelled at the way women seated in the opera house balconies

seemed like baskets of red flowers.

    Uniqueness in Valentino’s Style

Just the mention of Valentino makes people see red  –   a particularly distinct shade of red. Valentino is a master of

elegance and affluence, creating luxurious gowns with intricate detailing and beautiful silhouettes. His mastery of

classic couture embellishments,  from embroidery to feather trims, results in breath-taking beauty. Valentino

exemplifies the extraordinary craftsmanship of haute couture, and embraces the beauty of couture technique when

creating his glamorous gowns at his atelier in Rome.

    Personal Opinion

Romantic Eccentric Dress is what RED

Valentino stands for. I like that the

clothes are a more modern take on Italian

sister house Valentino. Pricing is slightly

higher but worth every dime. Obviously

lower than Valentino, but what is ever

surprising is that their clothing aren’t

produced in large quantities. They still

    maintain the Limited Edition

reputation.  Style wise, it is the most

    fashion-forward, slimmest of all of

Valentino's lines, because it is intended

    for a much younger audience.

    Valentino’s Signature Style

Valentino’s style, since the moment he began

designing, has always been beautiful and sexy.

Elegance is an important part of a woman’s sensuality

which is why Valentino chooses to use sultry fabrics

like delicate laces, rich chiffons and smooth silk and

satins. Ultra-feminine and elegant are often words

used to describe Valentino’s inimitable style.  His

tasteful designs are complementary to all body types

even though Valentino has always used super-thin

models to show off his designs in his ad campaigns.

Over the years, Valentino has developed some of the

most memorable ad campaigns in the business,

featuring some of the most beautiful models in the

world.  In all his years of designing, he is one of the

few designers who have consistently maintained the

    same image.

    CHRISTAIN DIOR

“A woman’s perfume tells more about her than her handwriting.”

Born in Normandy, France in 1905, Christian Dior was truly a fashion icon of the 20thcentury. His unbelievable

designs and breathtaking pieces have won the hearts of fashion enthusiasts all over the world. He was an unassuming

Frenchman who changed the way women looked in 1947 with his New Look. He didn't coin the phrase himself and, in

fact, wasn't even trying to start a revolution.

Type of person that would wear Valentino

    RED

The kind of people that would be drawn to

Valentino Red would be Higher Middle Class

SEC. The brand is a lower segment of

Valentino because its audience is much younger

and always looking for sleek and slimmer

designs. A typical Valentino Red customer

can be described as graceful, chic, looking

    for quality and straightforwardness.

Designer Christian Dior merely wanted women to look pretty. Dior’s popularity initially began through his

incredible line of hats. As his popularity continued he began expanding his highly sophisticated designer label into

one of the largest collections in the world. The label now consists of a wide range of designer clothing, handbags,

accessories and shoes for men and women.

In 1957, after Dior’s untimely death (he choked to death on a chicken bone in a l ocal restaurant)Yves Saint

Laurent was named his successor. Currently, Dior is a division of LVMH, quite possibly the largest designer fashion

company in the world and home to some of the world’s most popular labels such as Louis Vuitton and Emilio Pucci.

    Uniqueness in Christian Dior’s style

Dior particularly loved to be flamboyant when it came to his evening dresses where he could really experiment

with mass quantities of fabric. He was particularly fond of strapless evening dresses and used built-in feather boning to hold the dresses up which was a feat of engineering in itself as they were rather on the large side. Tulle was

often the fabric of choice for his evening wear skirts as it naturally creates light-weight volume. Something that

is unique about Dior is that they know how to put on a good show, be it on the runway showcasing their latest

collection or their in store visual Displays, they are fabulous and remarkably on the fairy-like glitter theme.

Christian Dior Visual Display at Harrods  Christian Dior personally handling the fittings

    Personal Opinion

Christain Dior was known for his perfume brands, however this was not his only forte as his real genius was to

create original haute couture designs. Even within this year’s designer collections, the basic principles of  the iconic

Bar Suit can clearly be seen on some catwalks. Dior’s collections according to me, features full skirts, rounded

shoulders, and tight fitted waists. The entire inspiration of their modern design is pleasing as they often feature

vintage detailing and offer an elusive mix of current and past styles.  Although Dior is often cited as the sole

originator of this silhouette, what is most remarkable is that he was the only one who realised the importance of a

complete look, thus he introduced a luxury brand solely for accessories. The “New Look” was not just about

clothing or fashion, but a new outlook on life and an expression of femininity.

Christian Dior’s Signature Style - Classy and Cutti ng Edge

The Dior image would be best described as classy and cutting edge. In his first show Dior introduced his signature

shape of the New Look. The New Look employed many hidden techniques to give its trademark curvaceous

silhouette, dresses were lined, bodices were boned in a rigid bustier style, hips were padded and waists were

minimized. Overall the look was the exact opposite to the boxy fabric conserving shapes of the war years. Christian

Dior has a number of designer collections including Christal Watch, Gaucho, Vintage Traveler, Nude, Logo, Flight

and more. Each collection offers a different image in order to accommodate all types of personal styles.

Dior’s Designs have graced some of the hottest bodies in the world. Famous celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence

and Keira Knightley are huge supporters of Dior’s creations and have chosen his designs for world renowned awards

shows like the Oscars and the Golden Globes. From runways and awards shows to premieres and movies, Christian

Dior’s designs are some of the most popular designer pieces in the world.

Type of person that would wear Chr istian Dior

The company's focus is clearly on popularizing the niche segment (Fragrance, make up and Skin Care). The type of

people that would wear Christian Dior's would be anyone who has an extra ordinarily mixture of romanticism,

feminism, modernity and a lump sum of money to spend. Some actors in this type include Reese Witherspoon, Blake

Lively, Demi Moore who are feminine and very modern in their dressing. Christian Dior has engineered a remarkable

commercial breakthrough based on top quality, highly creative products that definitely appeal to a youthful, refinedclientele.

    OSCAR DE LA RENTA

“Walk  l ike you have three men walking behind you”

Oscar de La Renta is Dominican-born American fashion designer whose work, blending European luxury with

American ease, helped define standards of elegant dressing among society circles in the late 20th and the early 21st

century. Trained by Cristóbal Balenciaga and Antonio Castillo, he became internationally known in the 1960s

as one of the couturiers to dress Jacqueline Kennedy.

An award-winning designer, his eponymous fashion house continues to dress leading figures, from film stars to

royalty, into the 2010s. He has been known ever since as the one to dress he first American ladies. While de la Renta

expanded his lines and took them in a new direction in the 1990s, his pieces remained feminine and flattering.

Licensing opportunities expanded the Oscar de la Renta brand into such categories as bridal, children’s, and fragrance,

jewellery and accessory collections. These collections and de la Renta’s fashion empire continue to grow globally.

doing exactly that, season after season, with his fairy-tale dresses and chic ladylike ensembles since 1965. What

inspires him now? I think it is the 21st Century woman. In one of his interviews he said ‘She is unbelievable,’ he says.

‘Today is the best time to be a designer because the woman you are dressing is completely in control of her life and

her destiny. It makes our work much more exciting.’  His sense of style is fantasy themed, extremely simple and

    appropriate.

Oscar de la Renta Signature Style –  Evening Gowns

Oscar de La Renta is particularly known for his red carpet gowns and evening wear. De la Renta continues to design

the collections and remains chairman, and though he’s begun to court a slightly younger, hipper customer, he’s still

the tailor of note for women of a certain age. Metaphorical embroidery, sumptuous fur, cheerful florals, and a

dash of exotic Latin detail are some of his favorite things.

Type of people wear ing Oscar De la Renta

Since the launch of his label in 1965, Oscar De la Renta has been largely unquestioned, uncontroversial. He has been president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America twice and has dressed three First Ladies. Since the designer

makes extremely elaborate designs the kind of women that would wear his clothing would be independent

women who are ambitious, determined and grand. They are in control of their lifestyle, organised and gracefully

approach whatever they believe in. This according to me is a true Oscar de la Renta woman.

    MICHAEL KORS

“Be romantic, strong and gorgeous, walk fast with energy and kill them with chic.”

Michael Kors is the leading American fashion designer for luxury accessories and sportswear. The company's heritage

is rooted in producing polished, sleek, sophisticated American sportswear with a jet-set attitude. Whether Aspen,

Palm Beach or Capri, their mission of a jet-set, luxury lifestyle to women and men around the globe.

Their products are illustrative and of the highest standard of quality which includes apparel, accessories and beauty.

Michael Kors began his career in fashion at the age of 19 designing and merchandising a collection for the renowned

boutique Lothar’s in New York City. The success of these clothes caught the attention of the fashion press, prompting

Kors to strike out on his own.

Kors is finally receiving the world-wide recognition for what fashion insiders, loyal fans, and Vogue sewers have long

appreciated his ability to design clothes that consistently combine the classic components of great American

sportswear  — luxury, elegance, ease, and comfort. After 18 years in business, his collections keep getting better and

     better.

It is no secret that his clients love him as much as they do his clothes, there is little doubt that his legendary charm has

contributed enormously to his success. Kors is not only on a first-name basis with the women who buy his clothes and

who often call him for advice on what to wear for momentous occasions but he is notorious for stepping into the

dressing room with clients to help fit a garment or influence a decision.

    Uniqueness in Michael Kors’s Style

Brand equity is something that is built over time and Michael Kors is a brand that is a promise fulfilled. It is an

expectation of a certain quality, style, design, price point and image that over time comes to represent something a

specific group of consumers can count on. Simplicity, luxury, and comfort are the foundation of his early

collections and are still at the core of the clothes he designs today.

    Sporty Collection 2014

His influences may vary from season to season but Kors’ clothes reflect a feeling of timelessness that is the essential

component of investment dressing. If anything, his emphasis on luxury — evident in fabrics that range from cashmere

to leather to fur has grown stronger over the years.

    Personal Opinion

Michael Kors is known for its luxury accessories and sportswear. His brand is polished, sleek, sophisticated with

an American jet-set attitude. His signature design style — luxuriously casual and simply elegant — embodies the past,

present, and future of American sportswear. He has perfected a formula for casual elegance that combines simplicity,

ease and luxury. Michael Kors watches have been quite renounced worldwide. Personally, I love the sleek designs of

their bags, effortlessness and simplicity at its very best!

M ichael Kors Signature Style –  American Casual Sportswear and Statement Accessories

Michael Kors ability to create sexy, sophisticated designs for all body types and all ages is remarkable. Unlike many

other designers whose focus remains on evening wear and business wear, Michael Kors has successfully developed a

niche within the fashion industry. His signature style is a combination of casual, street wear, athletics wear and

evening wear. This diversified collection allows Michael to appeal to a wider audience.

    The hunger collection 2014

Type of people that wear M ichael Kors

The luxury brand Michael Kors is designed and merchandised for a different and younger customer who likely has

ever seen, but heard of the Michael Kors collection and wish to own it. I find it a classic American positioning and

style. These type of customers know Michael Kors from his successful appearance on Project Runway; from Michael

Kors advertising; and from Michael Kors licensed watches, handbags and small leather goods featuring a prominently

displayed MK logo in shiny brassy, brass. They are prominently women between the age group 20-25 having high

spending power, who adore casual as well as sporty clothing with chunky accessories . They are brand conscious and

always updated with latest trends. But there are also some brand loyal customers who understand the quality and the

price they’re paying for. No doubt many high end customers were disappointed that the brand is no longer exclusive.

But the brand does not diminish in its quality even though it came up with a lower segment which is outstanding . His

customers include working women, society ladies (and in many cases their daughters), as well as celebrities

    ASSIGNMENT 3

    1.  BOHO LUXE

Boho stands for Bohemian which conveys an

attitude and style that describes a free-

spirited, independent frame of mind. The

look of the 60’s was considered bohemian,

but today it is more fashion oriented and a lot

of them are inculcating this look with the

accessories. I used sandals, an easy-breezy

maxi skirt, cross body bag and ethnic

inspired accessories to complete the look.

    2. ROCK CHIC

Rock chic is about being edgy, sexy and gorgeous at the same time. It is all about expressing

yourself so there is no one perfect way of achieving this look.  The main colours that I have used to

achieve this look are black and red. For the eyes I used smoky effect blending with copper eye

shadow to get the edgy look. The accessories include 5 finger rings, skull necklace and a wrist

band. I used gladiators because it adds the chic factor to the look.

    3. FASHIONISTA

Fashionista; according to me is about loud makeup and artistic dressing. Because this look requires drama,

I used red loud makeup to match up with my red heels. I used lace V shaped top with a high-waist skirt

that has lots of colours. The accessories for this looks include a statement ring, watch and golden earrings.

    4. COOL CLASSICS

It has characteristics that appeal to a majority of "neat

& tidy" women - especially those who appreciate

tailored clothes and accessories. Minimalism, Preppy

(i.e. Loafers) and Elegant (think Chanel-style suit) style

are variations of this fashion persona. Classic style also

    overlaps with Dramatic and Natural.

For this look I used peplum as it is classy and

expresses an elegant independent woman. I used red

lipstick and nude makeup, a slim black waist belt, a

statement metal watch, a hand clutch and black

    pencil heels.

    5. URBAN CHIC

The hipster that does not have the money to

be hipster is urban chic. Because urban chic

is elegant, stylish, and classy with an urban

twist I used a crop top with pencil fit jeans

along with a hand clutch written,” I need

lipstick” showing the right attitude to the

look. I used a gold statement necklace, a

round watch and electric blue contrast heels

to complete the look. The makeup is

    extremely subtle with peachy shades.

    6. REDCARPET

Hollywood glamour, as one would guess, is all

about the glamour and shine. This style has the

minimalist details of modern design, infused with

    ornate and classical details.

I used a black skater dress with neck details and a

gold bracelet matching with a gold ring on the other

hand. I used black earrings and red lipstick  for the

face along with illuminating make up.

ASSIGNMENT 4 –  Inspirational Visual Displays

Since Visual Merchandising is mainly focused on converting customers into prospects, the 5 human senses

are always taken in consideration i.e. feel, smell, see, hear and taste. I used a sensual perfume scent and

sprayed all over my mood board to give the feeling like they have entered an elegant store. There are neon

lights glued at the back of the chart board. One can see the lights shining from the back of the paper onto the

Visual Displays. I used thermocol balls because it is one of the props used for Visual Displays. Every store

has its own unique window display and they keep coming up with new ideas, looking at them inspires me.

My favourite is Louis Vitton ‘Time is a circus’.  The windows of Louis Vuitton stores reveal a world of

shimmering fantasy in which every object tells of dreams and the joy of giving .

     Louis Vuitton is very

     familiar with the magical universe.
