An excuse or justification is a form of immunity that must be dis- tinguished from an
exculpation. In this context, "to excuse" means to grant or obtain an exemption for a group of
persons sharing a common characteristic from a potential liability.
1. To explain (a fault or an offense) in the hope of being forgiven or understood:
2. To apologize for (oneself) for an act that could cause offense:
3. To grant pardon to; forgive:
4 To make allowance for; overlook
5. To serve as justification for: .
6. To free, as from an obligation or duty; exempt
7. To give permission to leave; release:
To justify" as in justifiable homicide means to "vindicate" or show the justice in the particular
conduct. Thus, society approves of the purpose or motives underpinning some actions or the
consequences flowing from them- the behavior cannot be approved but some excuse may be
found in the characteristics of the defendant from a mental illness.
An excuse relates to the status or capacity (or lack of it) in the accused. "To exculpate" means
to free a particular individual from culpability after he or she has caused loss or damage.

BIBLE TEXT: KEY VS. 8 8 And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I
pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue:
for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
Bible Study: 1 Samuel 30:1-8 1 And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the
Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire; 2 And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small,
but carried them away, and went on their way. 3 So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives,
and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives. 4 Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had
no more power to weep. 5 And David's two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of
Nabal the Carmelite. 6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all
the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged
himself in the LORD his God. 7 And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the
ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. 8 And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake
them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail
recover all.

because he had no pity.
2 Kings 8:6 (KJV) 6 And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed

Galatians 6:1 (KJV) 1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore
such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
1st Tithing was done before the Law The Law was a shadow only: Abraham
paid tithes to Melchizedek (Genesis 14:20, Heb. 7:1-2)
Jacob paid tithes and was promised to be blessed (Genesis 28:10:22) Tithing
was continued as a practice before the law(Genesis 28:15-22)
2nd Tithes & Offering: God has made it possible for every Christian to pros-
per financially. The channel by which He blesses His people is through TITHES
and OFFERINGS. Tithing is far more than a cliché to help replenish the
church’s coffers and keep the ecclesiastical wheels turning. It is rather an op-
portunity for personal Christian growth and a systematic way of giving to the
church.
Matthew 23:23 (KJV) : Jesus endorsed encouraged tithing (Matt. 23:23). and
demands more of us (Luke 12:48). 23
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hyp-
ocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the
weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to
have done, and not to leave the other undone.
3rd It was practiced 430 years before the law (Gen. 14:20; 28:22; Heb. 7:1-11).
4th Tithing In the New Testament: 1. Christ taught it (Mt. 23:23; Lk. 11:42; cp.
Mt. 5:20 with Lk. 18:11-12; see Mt. 10:10; Lk. 10:7-8). This was teaching for the
kingdom of heaven (Mt. 11:11-14; Lk. 16:16)
2. Paul Taught It: (1) Condemned sacrilege (Rom. 2:22), or robbing temples
(Mal. 3:8-10) and using holy things (Lev. 27)
(2) Teachers to be paid (Gal. 6:6) (3) God ordained support of ministers
(1Cor. 9:7-14; 1Tim. 6:17-18) (3) Christians to give as God prospers them (1Cor. 16:2)
(44) Melchisedec priesthood is eternal and must be supported by children of Abraham (Heb. 6:20; 7:1-11,17,21)
(6) Children of Abraham in faith must walk in his steps (Rom. 4:12; Heb. 7)
(7) Tithing is proof of obedience and appreciation of God's blessings (Rom.
4:12; Heb. 7:6-10; 1Cor. 9:7-14; 1Tim. 6:17-18; cp. Mal. 3:8-10; Prov. 3:9-10;
Gen. 14:20; Dt. 8:10-20)
5th Blessings of Tithing:
1. Blessings for obedience (see above)
2. God's house will not lack (Mal. 3:10). 3. God's ministers will not lack (1Cor. 9:7-14; 1Tim. 5:17-18; Neh. 13:10;
Mal. 3:8-10).
4. Material spiritual blessings (Mal. 3:8-10 Prov. 3:9-10; 2Chr. 31 Neh. 13)
6th Examples of Paying Tithes:
1. Abraham (Gen. 14:20; Heb. 7:1-11)
2. Jacob (Gen. 28:22) 3. Levi in Abraham (Heb. 7:9)
4. Hezekiah and Israel (2Chr. 31)
5. Nehemiah and Israel (Neh. 13)
6. Hypocrites (Mt. 23:23; Lk. 11:42; 18:12)
7. Christians (1Cor. 9:7-14; 16:2; 2Cor. 7:11; 8:1-15; Gal. 6:6; 1Tim. 5:17-18; Heb. 7)
Acts 5:1-6 (KJV) The Apostle come to bring you to a level what
you give up ever thing for God 1 Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2 kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and
brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to
the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was
it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in
thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. 5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. 6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and
buried him. Is it possible for a person heart to be filled by Satan and the person not know it, And
when death came Ananias did not see it:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan
filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the
land?
he lie to the HOLY GHOST.
