WHAT IS ELECTRONICS ?
The profession of applying scientific principles to the design, development & fabrication , repair & maintenance of electrical/Electronics Machines, Instruments and Communication systems.
Example: MOBILE/TV/DVD COMPUTER, LAPTOPS E-NOTEBOOKS HOME SECURITY SYSTEMS INTELLIGENCE SYTEMS REMOTE MONITORING/TESTING/CALIBRARTION
MAJOR SUBJECTS1. ELECTRONIC DEVICES & CIRCUITS: As the name suggest, the subject
make students familiar with the major electronic components & their characteristics.(Eg. DIODES,BJTS,JFETS,MOSFETS etc.).
2. DIGITAL ELECTRONICS: The subject covers the wide range of digital logic principles like Boolean algebra, various theorems & postulates, function minimization techniques, application based digital circuit design.
3. ANALOG COMMUNICATION: The subject covers almost all types of conventional analog communication techniques like amplitude modulation, frequency modulation, phase modulation & pulse analog modulation (pulse amplitude, pulse position, pulse width).
4. DIGITAL COMMUNICATION: Subject covers the study of almost all types of digital communication techniques like pulse code modulation, amplitude shift, frequency shift, phase shift keying techniques.
ALL THESE ANALOG & DIGITAL COMM. TECHNIQUES ARE WIDELY USED IN RADIO, TELEVISION, MOBILE PHONES, SATELLITE PHONES, RADAR SYSTEMS & MEDICAL APPLICATIONS.

5. MICROWAVE ENGINEERING: Subject covers the microwave components like WAVEGUIDES,COUPLERS,TEEs,KLYSTRON,MAGNETRONE etc. & Their characteristics. The subject deals with high frequency (of the order of giga hertz) communication.
6. MICRO PROCESSOR & CONTROLLERS : Subject covers detail study and programming of various processors & controllers like 8085,8086,80286, 8051 etc.
7. SIGNALS & SYSTEMS: Subject covers mathematical analysis of vast variety of signals like SINOSOIDAL, PULSE, RAMP, IMPULSE etc. And behavior of various electronic systems for the signals.
8. VLSI: Subject covers the detail study of very large scale integrated circuits and their limitations & issues. Object is how to make electronic gadget more and more compact without compromising the circuit capacity.
9. ANTENNA THEORY: Subject covers the detail study of almost all types of transmitting & receiving antennas like DIPOLE, YAGI UDA, PARABOLIC REFLECTOR, HORN, HELICAL, PATCH, MICROSTRIP etc. and their radiation pattern.
