I feel that since I arrived in Belfast and began my studies at the INTO Centre I have acquired a lot of new skills and broadened my knowledge. I have seen a great improvement in my presentation skills. I am so much more confident in speaking in English to share my thoughts and ideas in front of a huge audience. I can now explain what I really want to say and express myself much easier.

rewarding excellence with scholarships
www.intohigher.com
If you have a strong academic record you will have the
opportunity to apply for an INTO scholarship. These
recognise those that have worked hard to join us and
have the potential to go on to study at the highest
levels. Every study centre offers scholarships and each
application is considered with great care.
The leading universities in our network also have
scholarship programmes for those who do well in their
studies. They have great confidence in the academic
quality of INTO students and know they are well
prepared for the next stage of their studies. It is another
way in which we have helped thousands of students
achieve their ambitions.
Each year we award joint academic scholarships with
University partners and further INTO scholarships to
support students from around the world to study at
INTO. Details of the scholarships schemes are available
on our website.
High achievement is important to INTO and its students. We reward the academic success of the best students and in 2010 gave over $1.5m in scholarships that helped fund their studies.

INTO giving:making a difference
We believe that improving access to education can transform lives by lifting young people out of poverty and into a sustainable future. INTO staff and students organise and participate in a range of fundraising events, providing opportunities to make new friends and develop new skills, while helping to raise funds to support life-changing educational projects.
Our support is particularly focused on the countries our students come from and provide opportunities for staff
and students to make a real difference to the future of the young people in today’s global community. As part
of our commitment to making a difference to those who need it most, all monies raised by INTO staff, students
and the wider community are then matched by INTO. It is part of our commitment to building a better world.
The partnership projects:
HELPING in the GambiaPoverty and deprivation in the Gambia mean that
most children will not progress to higher education.
In partnership with HELPING we are contributing
towards the cost of training young teachers from
the local community to improve the standard of
education for all the young people they teach.
We have already provided funds for the teacher
training of 11 young teachers.
The China Hope projectFollowing the Sichuan earthquake of 2008 many
schools in remote parts of the province were either
destroyed or left unfit for purpose. In partnership
with the Hope project we have helped to rebuild the
Lianghou Primary School and we will continue to
support the school through further fundraising
and voluntary work.
In-Community Care for Orphan (I-CCO) in ZambiaIn 2009, 690,000 children in Zambia were orphaned
as a result of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and almost
double that number are missing school to help sick
parents or because they are too poor to attend
school. We are working with I-CCO to build a much
needed school and community centre for these
children and the families in the township around
the capital Lusaka. Most of the construction will be
carried out by locals, who will gain valuable building
skills and a training certificate. The building is already
underway and should be completed by summer 2011.
