Transcript: 1. How often would you say you watch action films? 2. I will now show you these action film trailers, could you please tell me your opinions on them? 3. Which trailer was the most appealing to you and why? 4. Which trailer was the most conventional? 5. Which trailer was the weakest and what would you improve? 1. I often watch action films at home, if I go to the cinema I only watch the action blockbusters like James Bond and Fast and Furious. 2. Use of low key lighting in the guardians of the galaxy as well as the detailed costumes and props. In the Furious 7 trailer I liked the sounds of vehicles and the soundtrack of the trailer as well as the fast pace. 3. The 2 nd trailer was more appealing due to its fast pace and more action like connotations whereas the first didn’t really have much action shown in it. 4. The 2 nd trailer was more conventional. 5. The 1 st trailer was weaker as it was much slower paced and focused on introducing characters rather than showing any action sequences. 1. I watch action films very often but I also watch other genres to the same extent. 2. From the guardians trailer I liked the use of humour within the trailer to contrast the themes of the film being friendly yet also a fight against an evil cause, good choice of music in the trailer. The Furious 7 trailer used many special effects, it gave a sense of the plot of the film, the trailer showed clear themes within the trailer when title screens came up with one word such as Vengeance. 3. The Furious 7 trailer was more appealing as it gave a sense of the plot of the film, the other trailer was quite long and is more aimed at people who have an acquired taste for films. 4. The furious 7 was more conventional as it seemed to show more ideas that it was an action film with the usual clichés such as guns explosions and Hollywood movie stars such as The Rock. 5. The guardians’ trailer was weaker as it seemed to be too long as a trailer.
