INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MARTENSITIC TRANSFORMATIONS July 9-14, 2017 Chicago, Illinois, USA 2nd Circular Announcement and Call for Abstracts September 2016 icomat2017.northwestern.edu Chicago as hosting city of ICOMAT 2017 The next ICOMAT meeting will be hosted by the Chicago-based CHiMaD Center for Hierarchical Materials Design in the metropoli- tan downtown Chicago. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan in the heart of the Great Lakes Region of North America, the city of Chicago is truly an epitome of the melting potreputation of the USA, evidenced by a diverse array of cultural, economic, and social experiences that draw tourism, science and technology, arts, and music to its streets year-round. The Chicago Schoolrepresents a unique tradition of innovation across many fields, notably including materials, as the birthplace of Materials Science in the 1950s and Materials Design in the 1990s. With the US Ma- terials Genome Initiative (MGI) in full swing by White House man- date, the next ICOMAT meeting will be organized around the central theme of Martensite by Design.Symposia will include design for microstructures, properties, advanced manufacturing, and performance. The next ICOMAT meeting will be hosted by the Chicago-based

ence the full downtown Chicago atmosphere

Call for Abstracts

The organizing committee of ICOMAT 2017 invites all

interested authors attendants and exhibitors to pre-

register and submit abstracts All Abstracts should be

submitted via the TMS ProgramMaster by the deadline of

October 14 2016 ICOMAT 2017 will host plenary and

parallel oral sessions in addition to poster presentations

According to a selection process and author preference

contributions will be allocated to oral or poster presenta-

tions Only one contribution per registered participant

will be accepted

The scientific program of ICOMAT-2017 will include
