1. VENUE

The Fifth meeting of the Collaborative Arrangement for the Prevention and Management of

Public Health Events in Civil Aviation (CAPSCA) - Africa will be held in the premises of the

International Conference Center in Nouakchott, Mauritania, from14 to 18 July 2014.

The International Conference Center is located at Tevraghzeina at the North Side the Olympic Stadium

(Avenue Moktar Ould Daddah).).

3. OPENING CEREMONY

The opening ceremony will take place on the morning of 14 July 2014 at 09:00 A.M. hours. The

official opening will be conducted in Arabic with simultaneous interpretation into English and French.

The work of the meeting will start on other days from 09 A.M

4. WORKING LANGUAGE

The working languages of the meeting will be French and English. The meeting will be held with a

reduced use of paper. Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops.

5. INFORMATION ON HOTELS

Participants are invited to make their own hotel reservations. A list of recommended hotels is indicated

below with rates that were reduced to participants of the meeting. Participants are also informed that

there will be a transportation service organized between the hotels and the venue of the meeting.

6. VISA

Mauritania has implemented, since December 2013, a biometric visa issuance system which is

operational at Nouakchott International Airport, and Mauritania Embassies abroad (Abu Dhabi,

Riyadh and Abidjan) and the level of PK55 Nouadhibou.

Visa applications can be made at the place of delivery (Embassies or border crossings) or

completed online from the site: http:/www. Anrpts.mr of the National Population Registry and

Secured Documents (ANRPTS). The applicant should in return receive an email confirming

receipt of the application. For the accepted applications, applicants also receive, via email, an

authorization to disembark at the Nouakchott where the visa will be issued upon arrival at

Airport.

The cost of visa to be paid in cash are set according to the nationality of the applicant, type of

visa requested and place of issue.

7. HEALTH IMMUNIZATION CERTIFICATES

7.1 Participants should ensure that they have travel insurance of their country of origin for the duration of

their stay in Nouakchott.

7.2 The presentation of a current vaccination certificate for Yellow Fever and Meningitis is strongly

required at the entrance

8. INFORMATION ON CLIMATE AND LOCAL TIME

The month of July is a hot month in which day time temperatures can from 30° to31° C at

the beginning of the month and from 34° to35 ° C at the end of the month. Night temperatures

vary from 23 ° to 24 ° early July and from 25° to 27 ° at the end of the month.

Rainfall: During July the sky (in half of the cases) is clear or with partially or fully

covered with clouds. The average rainfall can reach 33.7 mm in terms of accumulation.

The maximum average is 89% moisture.

Winds: The average wind speed during this period is 4.4 m / s with an average West /

Northwest direction with generally a continuous presence of a breeze (or more rarely

breeze) that makes the most enjoyable time at the end of the day.

9. LOCAL CURRENCY AND EXCHANGE RATES

The official currency of Mauritania is Ouguiya (MRO) and the average exchange rate for 300 MRO to

one U.S. dollar and 405 MRO to one Euro. These rates are subject to fluctuations. Banks are located in

the city and the opening hours are from 08:00 A.M. to 16:00 P.M.

English translation of the Letter of DG CAA of Mauritania with regards to the issuance of entry visas

to Mauritania during the upcoming Fifth Meeting of CAPSCA- Africa from 14 to 18 July 2014

Subject: Issuance of Biometric Visas at Nouakchott International Airport

For the upcoming Fifth meeting of CAPSCA -Africa to be held from 14 to 18 July 2014

in Nouakchott, I have the honour to inform you that Mauritania has established, since the end of 2013, a

biometric visas issuance system that is fully operational today at the Nouakchott International Airport and

at some Mauritanian embassies such as at Abu Dhabi, Abidjan and Riyadh and at the entry Point PK55 of

Nouadhibou.

Circular Letters have been sent to all airlines operating to Mauritania requesting them to facilitate

boarding of non-visa holding passengers to Mauritania during the check-in operations as biometric visas

can be issued to them upon arrival at Nouakchott International Airport.

Entry visas to Mauritania can still be requested at Mauritania embassies abroad or at border entry points as

indicated below or online at the following website: www.anrpts.mr of the the National Population

Registry and Secured Documents (ANRPTS).

The cost of visa is to be paid in cash and is set according to the nationality of the applicant, type of visa

requested and place of issue.
