• General Psychology
• College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, and Trigonometry
• Chemistry Series through Biochemistry
• Biology I and II with labs
• Physics I and II with labs
• Medical Sciences Seminars• Two Lower Division and Two Upper Division
• Senior Capstone Course
• 33 Hours of Electives from Approved List
Clinical Professions Major
This major provides a great deal of flexibility in choosing upper division electives that match student interests and future career goals.
• 6 hours of science from approved list
• 6 hours of non-science from approved list
• 21 hours of electives from both science and non-science approved lists
=Total upper division electives to equal 33 hours
Community Patient Care MajorThis major prepares students to work in a variety of venues from health clinics to nonprofit respite providers.
• 12 hours of focus electives from one of these focus areas:
• Medical Spanish Interpreter
• Developmental Disabilities
• Child Welfare Practice
• Gerontology/Aging Studies
• Patient Health Navigation/Advocacy
• 6 hours of science from approved list
• 6 hours of non-science from approved list
• 9 hours of electives from both science and non-science approved lists

Health Management, Policy & Information Major
This major prepares students to understand
administration and management in private and public
health care organizations.
Health Information Technology
• 12 hours of focus electives• 6 hours of science from approved list• 6 hours of non-science from
approved list• 9 hours of electives from both

Public Health Administration & Policy
• 18 hours of focus electives• 6 hours of science from approved list• 6 hours of non-science from

experience and focused reflection.

Experiential Learning Hour Requirement
Complete a minimum of 64 Experiential Learning (EL) hours each academic year (fall, spring, summer).• Hours must be submitted for approved, documented and then
verified by a supervisor.• Students need to complete an average of 32 hours per semester in a
variety of areas (shadowing, clinical training, clinical experience, research & service).
Goals: • Increase students’ understanding of the healthcare system and its
challenges and issues.• Help students realize the multitude of health professions,
occupations, medical settings, and career paths.• Impress upon students the importance of a collaborative healthcare
team.• Expose students to a variety of community needs, settings, situations,
populations, etc. that can directly impact health, wellness, and quality of health care.
