Focus

Extending the healing ministry of Christ

It may surprise many people to learn that 25 percent of those who die every year in the U.S. are Veterans. To help provide care and support that reflect the important contributions made by these men and women, CTMC Hos-pice has become a national partner of We Honor Veterans, a pioneering cam-paign developed by National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

As a We Honor Veterans Partner, CTMC Hospice Care will implement ongoing veteran-centered education for their staff and volunteers to help

improve the care they provide to the veterans they already proudly serve.

CTMC will be hosting another series of Dave Ramsey’s CORE Financial Wellness courses that will run Jan. 7, 2014 through Apr. 1, 2014 on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Main Classroom.

Email or contact the HR Office at x3546 to sign-up, and submit a payroll deduction or check for the class. When you complete the class, you will receive 20 points ($20) in CTMC’s wellness incen-tive program.

PayFlex, the administrator of CTMC’s Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts, will begin offering live customer service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We understand everyone is busy and that it’s not always possible to call during the normal work day. These additional hours allow PayFlex to better serve you and your schedule. Members will be

asked for information to authenticate their account. Then, PayFlex will route the call to the right area. When mem-bers call after-hours and verify their member ID, PayFlex will provide 24-7 customer service support. PayFlex has partnered with an exceptional customer service provider to support the 24-7 initiative. All calls will be recorded and quality standards upheld.

Each year the CTMC Medical Staff recognizes a hospi-tal employee who has gone the extra mile. James Garza, a CTMC maintenance engineer, was selected as the 2013 medical staff employee of the year. He received a special plaque and a gift card.

The following CTMC associates were also nominated for medical staff employee of the year: Nathalie Austin – Laboratory; Debbie Cox – Human Resourc-es Director; Reagan

Gobin – Surgery, Recovery Room; Matt Allen – Surgery, Robotics; Don Dionisi – Surgical Services Director.

PayFlex will soon offer 24-7 customer support
