CFC-YFC WEST B COMMUNITY-BASED CONFERENCE

AUGUST 21, 2011CREATIVE COMPETITION GUIDELINES

D A N C E C O M P E T I T I O N

DYNAMICS

1. The competition is open to all YFC members who underwent Covenant Orientation andeither of Family Culture or Youth Power. Preferably, one who was able to finish 1year

trackfor YFCs. (Except: Cluster Heads).

2. Thereshould beone entry per Cluster. All Clustersshould confirm theirentry on orbeforeAugust 7, 2011.3 points will be deducted from total score per day of late submission.

3. Each dance group must be composed of 10-12 members. One point will be deducted inexcess orin deficiency of this provision.

4. Entries must also be composed of MIXED dancers brothers and sisters (there should bemore than 1 sister/brother in a group).Clustersthat will not comply will automatically face

disqualification.

5. Dance type shall be modern-contemporary, traditional/classic dance types and/orcombination of this as long as they are expressed in the character and vibrancy oftodaysyouth. (Ballet & cultural will not be considered unless theyare mixed withand

danced to contemporary pop and youth culture styles of danceand musichip hop,

techno, etc.)

6. The competition will showcase the groups prepared dance. Maximum time forperformance is five (5) minutes including entrance and exit. Time starts once group

entersstageand endsafteritsexit. Three points will be deducted from thetotal score for

every minute orfraction thereof in excess of theallotted time.

7. CDs should be submitted upon site arrival and confirmation otherwise they will bedisqualified.

8. Movements should not be vulgar or sexually suggestive.9. Costumes must be decent and proper for the dance. The COMPETITIONS COMMITTEE

reservestheright notto allow the performance of a group dueto costumetechnicalities.10.Music should be wholesome and lively. Subliminal, sexually suggestive, and vulgarlyrics/language will not be allowed. (eg. Peaches and Cream, Sex Bomb, Too Close,

etc.) Non-compliance withthe guideline will resultin disqualification.

11. It is the groups responsibility to signify their presence one hour before the competitionand to show up at least onehour before theirperformance. All groups should register

from 7:30-8:00 AM. A point will be deducted for every 5 minutes late.

12.There will be a JAM Production, everyone is required to participate.One point will bededucted in deficiency of this provision.
