EUREKA SERIES INDUSTRIAL PLUGS AND SOCKETS

This latest generation of industrial plugs, connectorsand socket outlets extends and completes thecomprehensive range of SCAME’s plugs and sockets ofthe IEC309 Series.Completely new and internationally patentedtechnical and constructional features have beenadded to the EUREKA Series. These features, are of course joined to high qualityfunctional characteristics, reliability, safety and a longlife in even the most exacting operating conditions.An outstanding advantage of the EUREKA Series plugsand sockets - and one which distinguishes it from allother plugs and sockets manufactured up to this time- is the extraordinary ease and speed with which the contacts can be cabled and inspected.

Using EUREKA Series plugs and sockets is thereforehighly recommended wherever the electricalcontractor considers quick and easy cabling andfrequent inspection of the contacts to be importantfactors in the management of the installation work.

THE SNAP-ON DEVICE

Snap-action opening and closing

A patented “SNAP-ON” device provides snap-actionopening and closing of EUREKA Series plugs andsockets.The “SNAP-ON” device significantly cuts down onwiring time: it opens by pressing down on the springwith a tool and closes simply by twisting the grip orthe insert.

The device is supplied in the open position: simply twist theinsert to open.

ADVANCE 2 SYSTEM MODULAR SYSTEM FOR COMBINATION UNITS

The new, completely IMQ-certified, system by Scamehas been mainly designed for industrial purposes. Itconsists of two bases (module 106 and module 136),which can be provided with interlocked sockets madein two 16/32A and 63A containers. The reduced number of versions in only two sizes is thesolution to manifold planning and installing problems,assembling very few elements and easy maintenance.

VERSIONSThe whole ADVANCE 2 system is based on two standardwidths, 106 and 136 mm, which are produced in twodifferent modules:

- MODULO 106 here defined as “compact”- MODULO 136 here defined as “large”

Both modules are also available in the HD (Heavy Duty)version, which is made with high mechanical featuresand resistant to chemical agents. It has been designedfor heavy use.

ADVANCE 2 System consists of the following:- no. 2 modular supports having the sizes below:

106 x 434 (Compact)136 x 584 (Large)

- Many connector blocks and set housing boxes withmodular length of 106 and 136 mm.

ADVANCE 2 SERIESINTERLOCKED-SWITCH SOCKET OUTLETS

SCAME, ADVANCE 2 Series, interlocked socket outletshave smooth and well-connected surfaces, with nosharp edge or lines, included the hand grip, whichensure top safety and ergonomic use as well as easycleaning, being installed in environments thatparticularly need such requirement.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

- Protection degree: IP44 – IP67

- Metric threaded cable inlet with possible in-outdevice on the bottom.

- Complete interchangeability with the installedproduct.

- Grip can be locked.

- Screwless plate.

- Plate with overprinted window.

- Seals made by co-printing and skimming.

- Use of socket plugs with rubber gaskets.

- Reduced number of versions in two dimensions only.

A complete range of products for manifold planningand installing solutions.

- Up to 6 modules that can be installed in the versionswith DIN slide.

- Improved mechanical interlocking system.

- Very few elements to be assembled for easy and quickinstalling and maintaining operations.

- Provided with ground clamp firmly anchored to thebase.

OMNIA SYSTEM - IP55FLUSH AND SURFACE MOUNTING MODULAR SYSTEM

Ideally suited to installation needs in premises thatrequire industrial sockets but where protrusion fromthe wall must be kept to a minimum, such as inkitchens, bars, public places, shops and businesspremises in general.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS- Protection degree IP55 according to IEC 60529.

- Made of halogen-free self-extinguishingthermoplastic material. RAL 7035 grey, abnormal heatand fire resistant up to 650 °C (glow-wire test to IEC695-2-1).

- Dimensional stability in continuous operation from-25 °C to +60 °C.

- Impact resistance: 6 Joule

- Resistance to chemicals (water, saline solutions,acids, alkaline, mineral oils) and weathering.

- Stainless steel quick action locking screws.

- Non-ageing elastomer seals.

- Compliance with IEC 60670 (only for boxes coupled tothe consumer unit or with blank cover).

SURFACE MOUNTING SYSTEMIt is available with in an integral unit consisting of onedistribution unit and two OMNIA interlock switchsockets fused or unfused.The construction of these products guarantees arobust unit allowing seperate removal of thedistribution unit or the OMNIA switch interlocks andensuring quick cabling of the unit.It is possible to construct and assemble these units offsite in workshops, enabling installation of units on siteutilising the internal/external fixing holes and lugs thedistribution unit will accept a blank cover to permitthe use of the unit for other purposes ie as a junctionbox.

OMNIA SERIES - IP67INTERLOCKED-SWITCH SOCKET OUTLETS

OMNIA Series, in surface mounting and flush mountingversions without protective devices, is designed forindustrial use and could also be used commerciallywith its attractive appearance and reduced size.

STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS - Overall dimensions are the same for both 16A and 32A

versions.

- Surface mounting version can be installed in themodular base (module 136) of the ADVANCE System -Flush mounting version with box of 70 mm depth,including frame to hide imperfections in the plastering.

- Panel mounting version can be installed in DOMINOSystem enclosures.

- On the back of the base of the surface mountingsocket are bosses for fixing to the panel.

- There are knockouts for cable inlet in the base.

- Possibility to block the switch in closed and openposition.

- Mechanical interlock that prevents the switch fromclosing if the plug is not inserted, the extraction ofthe plug if the switch is closed and the opening of thesocket outlet cover if the switch is closed.

DOMINO SERIES - IP66SURFACE MOUNTED

Meets a large number of installation needs in industrialand similar premises. With a modern and attractive design it blends wellinto any setting.

In version IP66, the DOMINO System offers a completerange of consumer units and sealed mountedenclosures for distribution assemblies. They areextremely flexible in the ways they can be used andextended.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

- Protection degree IP66 to IEC 60529 and EN 60529.

- Non-ageing elastomer seals.

- Double insulation e (Use the bottom insulating capssupplied).

- Made of halogen-free self-extinguishing thermoplasticmaterial. RAL 7035 grey, abnormal heat and fireresistant up to 650 °C (glow-wire test to IEC 60695-2-1).

- Dimensional stability in continuous operation from -25 °C to +60 °C.
