Elementary Instructional Coaching Institute October 8, 21 and November 16, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. $350 per participant Location: University of Hartford Magnet School, 196 Bloomfield Avenue, Hartford *This 3-day institute is for elementary instructional coaches who want to attend formal training on instructional coaching. Includes admittance to Instructional Coaching PLC for Novice Coaches (3) sessions. Participants will learn about the most current thinking on topics of instructional coaching, including the essential elements of effective instructional coaching, the coaching cycle, connecting with teachers, analyzing teacher needs, observing classes, collaborating on interventions, modeling, providing feedback, and supporting a professional learning community. Participants will utilize newly acquired strategies in a K-5 lab school setting, and acquire the tools required to balance the multiple roles of a coach while supporting colleagues in the classrooms. Advanced Instructional Coaching K-12 Instructional Coaching Institute for Master Coaches October 6, 27 and November 17, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. $350 per participantMedical Professions and Teacher Preparation Academy, 600 Slater Road, New Britain*This 3-day institute is for experienced instructional coaches, at all levels of schooling, who have either attended Instructional Coachingtraining or have at least 4-5 years coaching experience.

The Master Coaching Institute is for experienced instructional coaches, coaching specialists, coordinators, and/or department leaders

working to advance their coaching knowledge, techniques, and strategies. The institute looks to hone a deeper understanding of various

coaching frameworks, theory, research, current perspectives and practices and explores the unique perspective of a “coaching mindset.”

This institute will focus on working in lab-site classrooms, assessing student work, peer feedback, videotape, building networks for change,

and identifying ways to promote teacher reflection to improve student learning.

areas, including working with school leaders, walkthroughs, providing appropriate feedback, and maintaining and sustaining instructional coaching in the school. Additionally, the PLC supports a school culture and climate that utilizes coaching as a cornerstone for ensuring high expectations and achievement for all learners. The PLC is for coaches at all grade levels and content areas, including literacy, numeracy,
