Geomiq Inspection & Sampling Plan Details and Examples We offer (5) different inspection options in the ‘Add-Ons’ section of the platform quotation configurator. All machined and sheet metal parts will have a standard inspection included in the part price and lead time. All inspections are described below as well as examples of the reports.
1. Standard Inspection QC will verify that the part material, features, and finish are in accordance with the part requirements specified on the platform.
• No additional cost
• Up to 20 dimensions selected by Geomiq or manufacturing partner to demonstrate compliance to drawing.
• All simple sheet metal parts, single surface.
• All simple CNC parts (defined as parts without precision tolerances tighter than +/-0.1mm or special features).
• No documentation will be provided
2. Formal Inspection with Dimensional Report For QC to verify compliance, a Formal Inspection with Dimensional Report (Figure 1) will be added by default to any CNC or Sheet Metal jobs containing at least one of the following;
- Parts with tolerances tighter than +/-0.1mm - GD&T symbols such as flatness, perpendicularity, concentricity, runout etc - Features specified by reference to a standard e.g. DIN, ISO, SAE, BS (gears, splines etc) - Non-standard threads (not defined by ISO 68, ISO 261, ISO 262 or ISO 965) or thread inserts - Surface roughness better than 0.4Ra
• Lot size sampling as Geomiq Inspection Sampling Table (based on ISO 2859-1:1999, AQL 2.5%, with zero defects)
• 25 of the tightest tolerance dimensions to be inspected unless explicitly stated by the customer
• Max 25 dimensions inspected per part
• A customer-supplied dimensional print is required for this inspection
• Report shared with customer to demonstrate compliance
• Costs start from £10 and will be priced in to your quote
• May increase lead time by 1-3 days
3. CMM Inspection with Dimensional Report QC will perform an inspection using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) where all dimensions, attributes, dimensional locations, and print notes will be documented.
• Lot size sampling as Geomiq Inspection Sampling Table (based on ISO 2859-1:1999, AQL 2.5%, with zero defects)
• A Formal Inspection with Dimensional Report will be included with any CMM report
• 15 of the tightest tolerance dimensions to be inspected unless explicitly stated by the customer
• Max 15 dimensions inspected per part
• A customer-supplied dimensional print is required for this inspection
• Reports shared with customer to demonstrate compliance
• CMM costs start from £25 and will be priced in to your quote
• May increase lead time by more than 1-3 days
4. First Article Inspection Report QC will perform inspection to provide objective evidence that all engineering design and specification requirements have been properly understood, accounted for, verified and documented.
• Lot size sampling as Geomiq Inspection Sampling Table (based on ISO 2859-1:1999, AQL 2.5%, with zero defects)
• 100 of the tightest tolerance dimensions to be inspected unless explicitly stated by the customer
• Up to 100 inspection points maximum
• A customer-supplied dimensional print is required for this inspection
• Report shared with customer to demonstrate compliance
• Costs start from £15 and will be priced in to your quote
• May increase lead time by 1-3 days

5. Custom Inspection QC can accommodate custom inspection requirements such as, but not limited to, the following; Non-Destructive Testing, Serialization, Custom Sampling Plan, or if you would like to provide your own inspection datasheet.
• Manual quote required
• Customer determines all inspection features and sample size
• Customer drawing is required with ballooned/indicated dimensions for inspection
