Innovation Week in India: “TRIZ for X – 2018” and Related Events

On November 30, 2018, the fourth annual TRIZ Conference “TRIZ for X” took place in Pune, India. TRIZ Association of Asia http://trizasia.com/ was the main organizer. A good number of local and international organizations, including MATRIZ, supported “TRIZ for X” Conference.

The Conference this year attracted more than one hundred thirty registered participants from different locations in India. There were participants from industry, academia and consulting business. Representatives of the world leading companies including GE, Samsung, ANSYS, John Deere and others participated in the Conference.

Three TRIZ Masters from different countries were speaking at the conference: Mr. Alex Lyubomirskiy, (USA), Mr. Valeri Souchkov (Netherlands) and Dr. Oleg Feygenson (South Korea).

The Conference started with an Inauguration of Student Chapter done by Mr. Shree Phadnis, Chairman of TRIZ Association of Asia. Then, on behalf of the International TRIZ Association (MATRIZ) Dr. Oleg Feygenson presented a greeting letter prepared by the President of MATRIZ Dr. Yury Fedosov.

“Hot” topics discussed during the Conference include: Breakthrough Cost Reduction, Disruptive Innovations, IoT, Big Data, Importance of Statistical Principles as well as some actual case studies both from industry and business.

The last session of the Conference was devoted for a Rapid Fire Session with TRIZ Masters where any participant had an opportunity to ask any questions to three TRIZ Masters presented in the Conference. The session was professionally facilitated by Dr. Sandeep Wankhade.

There were other TRIZ events connected to the “TRIZ for X” Conference. Such activity was conducted for the second time (first time was in 2017) and it is becoming a regular activity now. Before the Conference there was a TRIZ Level 1 workshop conducted by Mr. Shree Phadnis (November 26-28, 2018). At the same time another training workshop “Basic Innovative Problem Solving with TRIZ for Business and Management” was delivered in New Delhi by Mr. Valeri Souchkov, TRIZ Master. The training was organized by TRIZ Association of Asia and Xebia, a global company focused on developing advanced methods for managing enterprise business solutions. Two tutorials “How to Develop a New Product that will be a Market Winner” & “Organization wide Innovation Portfolio Analysis” were conducted by Mr. Alex Lyubomirskiy, TRIZ Master.

Pre-conference tutorials

After the Conference, there was a masterclass from Dr. Oleg Feygenson, TRIZ Master on “Advanced Information Analysis with TRIZ” (December 1, 2018). Mr. Valeri Souchkov, TRIZ Master was invited to deliver a keynote talk at AGILE NCR 2018 conference in Gurugram, New Delhi, India (December 1, 2018) to present how TRIZ can be used with Agile for more than two hundred fifty participants.

From December 3, 2018, a Level 3 MATRIZ Certification Course led by Mr. Alex Lyubomirskiy starts in Pune, India.

The “TRIZ for X” Conference and all pre- and post-conference activities definitely indicate a growing interest to TRIZ and its practical applications in India.
