The Contemporary Learning Hub is hitting the road to deliver our popular Innov8 Programs in Hervey Bay. Our Innov8 Programs are designed to upskill educators with each program kicking off with a hands-on, interactive workshop where Exploring the Digital Technologies and Mathematics Learning Areas with P-6 INNOV8 HERVEY BAY After the initial workshop, participants explore how the tools in their kit and the digital pedagogies they have been introduced to can be used in their own classroom environment. A key focus of the program is on building the confidence of participants to implement learning activities that support the content descriptors of the Digital Technologies and Mathematics learning areas. every participant receives a tool kit they can keep and use in their classroom. IMMERSE DISCOVER EXPLORE KICKSTART WORKSHOP Join us at USC Fraser Coast Campus in Hervey Bay for our Innov8 Kickstart workshop. At this workshop, we’ll unpack the new Digital Technologies learning area and engage with a range of learning activities and digital technologies that you can use to support students to understand maths and digital technologies concepts. ONLINE SUPPORT During the 8 week program, we’ll be hosting fortnightly webinars where you can access support and more ideas and inspiration for using your toolkit in your classroom. You’ll also have access to our Innov8 blog which is full of ideas and resources. A culminating web conference for sharing ideas and activities will be held at the end of the 8 weeks. INNOV8 FACILITATORS Our Innov8 Program for Hervey Bay is being facilitated by our Hub Coordinator Kristine Kopelke and Maleny State School’s Digital Tech Leader Adrian Greig. Adrian and Kristine are passionate about using digital technologies and pedagogies and have over 30 years of combined experience providing professional development and support to teachers in this area. They are both responsible for implementing the new Digital Technologies learning area in their schools and both host lunch time makerspaces for their students. TOOLKIT INCLUDED Every participant receives their own kit of devices and resources to keep and start using straight away in their classroom. The kit contents for each Innov8 program are carefully selected by our team and are tried and tested in our classrooms.
