Initial IdeasFilm Opening
My Film Idea - NarrativeThe film opening will be about a character who has given up
on everything and wants to start new. The character will pack up his belongings and start to make his way out of his
hometown. As he is making his way out passing his town he starts to stress as he experiences the good and bad
memories. The audience see the anger and stress from his facial expressions, which allows them to connect more with the character as they start to understand what he has been
through. The character will then start to panic and turn around rapidly in busy streets with people and cars coming from different directions, he gets confused and can’t deal
with it that suddenly we see him in a desert, stranded. And the audience are then to see how he continues to live his life
from there.
Title – ‘Lost’ The reason I have titles my film ‘Lost’ is
because it already gives the audience an idea of what the film could be about and should interest them into finding out more about
what/who could be ‘lost’. The main idea is to make the audience come up with loads of
conclusions of what the film opening could be about before watching.
My Film Idea – VisualsThe shots will mainly focus on the man and how he is handling with
all of his thoughts as well as trying to find a solution to deal with them… which is running away.
Genre – Psychological ThrillerI chose the genre to be this as they
focus on one main character/ topic and are full of mystery and intrigue which is what I want my film opening to consist
of.
Definition of Psychological Thriller
Psychological thriller s a sub-genre of the wide ranging genre, thriller as well
as incorporating elements from the mystery genre too.
Main CharacterThe main character will be a man who is struggling to handle stress, school and his social life. From thevarious camera shots The audience
will get to be drawn in with this character as they will get to
understand the emotions he is going through with the facial
experiences.
Film SoundtrackThe music I plan on using as part of
my soundtrack will be mysterious and slow-paced. This is because it gives
the audience a sense of intensity and curiousness of why the man is feeling
‘lost’. Alongside, the slow-paced music will add emotion to the
character and audience.
