In terms of infrastructure, Sadanlal Sanwaldas Khanna Mahila

Mahavidyalaya is one of the best colleges in the Prayagraj. Over the years, the

College has built up an impressive infrastructure. As you enter the portals of

this college, the calm, serene atmosphere of a beautiful campus spread over

8509 sq. area surrounded by lush green lawns and a magnificent building touch

your soul.

Learning Spaces

The college has well equipped laboratories and classrooms and library with more 26,576 books

and hard bound periodicals. The administrative block has 41 spacious rooms of varied area and

seating capacities to meet requirements of UG, PG and Ph.D. students. Big classrooms are

available for 80-100 UG students. For optional courses, class size is for about 30 students. Each

classroom is equipped with appropriate, comfortable furniture; good ventilation and adequate

light. Most classrooms are equipped with LCD projectors and Wi-Fi. The academic programme

of the college is enriched by laboratory experience with 22 well-equipped hi-tech laboratories

to engage students to a variety of practical orientation, self-instructional, learner friendly modes,

LIBRARY

The library has been functioning since the inception of the college and has been named as

“Shyam Nath Kakkar Library”. The library contain a collection of the books 27000 as on

March 2018. The library subscribes 50 journals, 30 Magazines and 12 news papers regularly.

The library provides services to the students, teachers, and staff of college. A reading room with

reference books, encyclopedia, magazines, journals, periodicals, newspapers is open for both the

students and staff members. The reading room is also well equipped with sufficient numbers of

computers with internet facility for both teachers and students.

COMPUTER HUB

Computer learning and training is a necessity in this world of Technology. Girls' at S.S. Khanna Girls'

Degree College have the facility to enroll themselves in well-equipped and well-managed Computer Hub

run with the help of UPTEC at subsidized rates in following courses Tally, CCC and 'O' Level Course.

Approximately 130 state-of-the-art machines from IBM, HCL & HP and LCD Projectors and an

interactive board are available along with all necessary peripherals. The machines and programmes are

continuously upgraded to ensure the market relevance of acquired skills. Further, computers with internet

connection are available both for students and teachers in the library, staff room and computer labs. The

college library and the computer laboratories have access to advance web activity with its subscription to

E-resources through AU Network that links students and faculty researchers to the data bases needed for

SEMINAR ROOM The air-conditioned seminar room, with a seating capacity of about hundred people, is equipped with

audio-visual facilities along with recording facilities and an excellent sound system. It also features a

projector screen, white board, black board and a podium. The Seminar Room is used for holding

seminars, symposia, group discussion, lectures etc.

AUDITORIUM

The Auditorium serves as a space for encouraging creativity and fostering communication. S.S.Khanna

Girls degree College has on of the best auditoriums in Prayagraj „The Pathshala‟. The auditorium can seat

about 500 people and has a very advanced light and sound system. It is equipped with a large stage, two

green rooms, comfortable chairs, fully carpeted floors, air-conditioners, wash-rooms, locker and podium.

DIFFERENTLY ABLED FRIENDLY CAMPUS

The College has made unprecedented attempts to make the College campus differently-abled

friendly. Ramps and elevators facilitate the movement of differently abled people within the

BASIC HEALTH CARE UNIT

College has a medical room with all the necessary first aid and a mobile stretcher. A staff has

also been appointed for providing proper first aid during emergencies. On-call Doctor visit

facility is also available. College is well connected to a hospital which is within 500m of its main

gate.

Common Room

To facilitate female students are common room with good seating arrangement and ambience along with

female security attendant is present.

SPORTS GROUND

The College has a large sports ground used for Badminton, Basket Ball, Volley Ball, football,

hockey, kabaddi etc. The College has been excelling in sports for over two decades. Every year

the College holds Sports events, Inter-collegiate matches and Sports Day. For proper training and

grooming of players the College provides coaching facilities to the players for different games.

FOOD COURT

The College Canteen is a popular meeting place for students. It serves array of savory food and a

variety of eatables at moderate prices. The canteen has a seating capacity of fifty people. The overall

administration of the Canteen is under the supervision of a Canteen Committee drawn by the College

governing body.

PARKING

The College has a separate parking lot in the campus, for students and staff. For regulating entry,

tokens are issued to the bona-fide users.
