In this workshop, we will examine examples of

infographics, review what makes a quality infographic

and share resources to help you create you own.

What is an

infographic

An infographic is

a graphic

representation

of information.

Why Use Infographics?

• Visual information is processed faster

• Simple visuals prime the reader for more complex information

• Require higher order thinking and processing to evaluate

(common core)

• Infographics are everywhere and engaging

• Great tool to assess student comprehension and learning

What makes a good infographics

● Simple and focused- ONE topic

• Visually represent data to create knowledge

o the visual - graphic (colors and graphics)

o the data - content (statistics and facts)

o the knowledge - insight into the data (inference, conclusion, learning)

• Visual data is expressed in a variety of ways

• Data sources are cited
