• Causative agent: various types of influenza viral strains.

• Scientific name: InfluenzaAvian influenza (bird flu): Orthomyxoviridae

• Classified by its type. Either A, B, or C.

SYMPTOMS• Fever (high, around +100°F)

• Headache

• Tiredness/ weakness/ fatigue

• Sore throat

• Cough (dry)

• Body aches

• Runny or stuffy nose

• Diarrhea or vomiting (common for children)

• Chills and sweats

• Loss of appetite

TRANSMITTED

• Influenza is highly contagious. It is transmitted through the air from an infected person. The viruses are carried by droplets from coughing or sneezing.

• It is a good idea to wash your hands regularly to kill possible germs.

• The most famous and lethal outbreak in history was the Spanish flu pandemic. (1918-1919)

• Death has occurred due to the flu.
