What is STATE Dance Marathon at Indiana State University?
STATE Dance Marathon at Indiana State University is a student-lead philanthropic
organization that benefits Riley Hospital for Children, a local hospital in the Children’s
Miracle Network. Riley Hospital for Children serves some of the sickest children
regardless of their ability to pay. Students involved in STATE DM raise awareness and
funds through year-round community and campus-wide events for the kids. This effort
culminates in the Spring semester with an 8-hour Dance Marathon, which serves as a
symbolic display of solidarity for the children who are unable to stand.

About the DM Event
STATE Dance Marathon’s main
event is an 8-hour marathon in
honor of Riley Hospital for Children
and their families. During this time,
all participants learn a line dance,
enjoy live music, and listen to stories
from Riley Families. During the
emotionally rewarding closing
ceremony, the ISU Sycamores and
Riley Families come together for the
final fundraising total reveal.
This year the event will take place
from 4PM to midnight on February
25th in the Arena on Indiana State
University’s campus.

WHY DONATE TO STATE DM?
When you donate to STATE DM, you are pledging to make a difference in the lives of countless Riley children and their families. Additionally, your support helps our organization expand, increase our reach into the community, and offer leadership opportunities to students on Indiana State University's campus.
Being involved with our organization is a mutually-beneficial partnership, and we want to be as much of a help to you as you are to us. Our dance marathon can offer a variety of opportunities for your company to become involved with our organization. In addition to our actual marathon on February 25, 2017 we will be hosting numerous events throughout the year that provide opportunities for us to promote your brand. At these events, your company will have access to hundreds of ISU students, both those involved with STATE DM and simply those attending the events. The marathon itself offers access to over four hundred students in a single setting.
WHY RILEY HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN?
Riley Hospital for Children is not an average children’s hospital. Riley hosts many different programs that are not available elsewhere in the state, including a Pediatric Burn Unit and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. Riley also has the only Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant and Pediatric Dialysis Programs in Indiana. Riley offers more clinical trials for children than any other hospital in the state and treats more than 80% of children in Indiana diagnosed with cancer with, on average, about 200 new cases of pediatric cancer each year. Along with their experience in treating pediatric cancer, Riley is a longstanding member of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), allowing them to offer the latest treatments for pediatric cancer. Additionally, Riley also has experts in every pediatric specialty, many of whom are among the top in their respective fields in the country.
