The infrastructure sector has a shortage of around 3 million project professionals. In order to meet this demand, there is a need for suitably qualified and skilled professionals. A pool of trained professionals is needed across various job levels in the infrastructure value chain. Anticipating to address this shortage and to make the talent pool employable, Government of Kerala took the initiative of establishing a Centre of Excellence in Infrastructure and Construction.

Indian Institute of Infrastructure and Construction (IIIC) is a joint initiative of Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE) - the State Skill Development Mission and Uralungal Labour Contract Co-opera-tive Society Ltd (ULCCS Ltd). It has been established with a vision to promote tailor-made courses for technical, supervisory and managerial levels in the construction and infrastructure sectors. ULCCS Ltd, a 94-year-old cooperative in infrastructure and con-struction, with its strong experience in the construc-tion sector, is ideally positioned to take the lead in enabling IIIC to be a state-of-the-art skilling institute.

strength of 40 students and admissions will be on merit basis. The courses are designed with on job trai-

This programme aims at equipping the stu-dents for the roles and responsibilities of a house-keeping attendant, who are responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance and aesthetic upkeep of premises as per set procedures and standards Minimum educational qualification: 8th PassExperience: Not mandatory.Course duration: 3 monthsCourse fee: Rs.20000 + GST

This course captures the knowledge required for per-forming the job of a bar bender which includes many activities like cutting, bending and fabrication of rein-forcement steel as per drawing. Bar bender & steel fixer is responsible for marking, cutting and bending of re-bars using hand or power tools effectively, fabricating, placing and fixing reinforcement at the desired location-Minimum educational qualification: Matriculation.Course duration: 3 monthsExperience: Not mandatory.Course fee: Rs.20000 + GST

This program provides intensive training to use modern tools and techniques for automobile painting and paint-ing and decorative works in all kind of surfaces. Minimum educational qualification: MatriculationCourse duration: 3 monthsExperience : Not mandatoryCourse fee: Rs. 30000 + GST

This training program is developed for imparting basic skills and knowledge relevant to a construction electri-cian thereby enabling the candidate to perform the as-signed job roles in the industry. This course is a combi-nation of hands-on practice and theory-based modules with very much importance to safety aspects as well. Training in construction welding for fresher’s and expe-rienced candidates in SMAW (1G, 2G,3G, 1F,2F,3F), TIG (1G, 2G,3G, 1F,2F,3F), MIG (1G, 2G,3G, 1F,2F,3F). This course aims to provide students training in operat-ing a hot mix plant and also on some of the major types of equipment employed at a road construction site. The course provides comprehensive knowl-edge and practical expertise in hospitality man-agement. The course introduces housekeep-ing, front office, food production & beverage handling, sales and marketing. Hands-on training with the internship will be provided at reputed organisations. The quality technician is responsible for conducting tests on construction materials at field & laborato-ry, carrying out the inspection of construction mate-rials, maintaining QA/QC documents and construc-tion site laboratory as per the quality management system. This course imparts comprehensive skill-ing in performing the duties mentioned above with due emphasis on safety in the construction industry. This course enables the students to gain insight into the knowledge required to perform the job role of a Water Treatment Plant (WTP) or Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) operator. Facility Management is an emerging employment sector at Malls, Hospitals, IT companies etc. where job opportunities are on the rise. This program is conducted as a collaborative course with certification from the In-ternational Facility Management Association, Houston (IFMA), USA.Minimum educational qualification: Any DegreeExperience: Not required.Course duration: 1 yearCourse fee: Rs150,000 + GST

The main objective of the programme is to acquire knowledge in the implementation of project man-agement throughout its project life cycle in the con-struction industry. Also, the program allows the stu-dent to gain knowledge in advanced surveying such as total station, GPS, DGPS as well as in various soft-ware relevant to the field like AutoCAD, Primavera etc. Minimum educational qualification: B.Tech Civil Engi-neering Experience: Not required.Course duration: 6 months Course fee: 100000 + GST

Graduateship Programme in Mechanical Engineering provides quality education for mechanical engineers through hands-on training in Mechatronics, Quality as-surance and Quality control, Nondestructive testing, safety, Maintenance and troubleshooting of automotive engines and electronics, Modern Manufacturing process (3D printing) with first-class lab facility.Minimum educational qualification: B.Tech Mechanical Engineering Experience: Not required. The program aims at developing the competencies and skills of the students seeking employment in the retail sector. This one year program is offered in a flexi learning mode with substantial classroom teaching and hands-on experience in the industry through internships. This course aims to impart the skill in geospatial tech-nology, a rapidly emerging and widely used tech in var-ious fields.
