Monument inscription reads : 'Sacred to the memory of John Hay who died 2 July 1860 aged 83 years. Also Ann Tod his wife who died 4 Feb. 1856, aged 85 years. Also their son Alexander and Jane Berwick their daughter-in-law wife of David Hay of Parua. Janet, daughter of John Hay, and Ann Tod, who died 22nd Oct. 1874. Robert Hay died 26th Dec. 1888, aged 84 years. David Hay died at Parua, N.Z. 14th Jan. 1889, aged 81 years. James Hay died 22nd June 1889, aged 75 years'.
