Trade show season kicks off

As fall approaches, another trade show season is set to begin. A week from now, I will be in Verona, Italy, touring the expansive exhibit halls at Marmomacc -- the world's largest stone exhibition. In addition to machinery, tools and accessories, and stone maintenance and installation products, the show will also include a large display of stones from around the world. Anamosa limestone contributes to residential luxury

Home to the Rose Parade since 1890, Pasadena, CA, is a treasured city in Southern California. It is positioned in the San Grabriel Valley - only minutes from downtown Los Angeles - and recognized for its historic district. Many of the buildings in Historic Old Town Pasadena have been restored, and the area has become a hot spot with its bountiful restaurants, night clubs and specialty shops. And as the result of its alluring environment, new housing complexes are being developed to accommodate those migrating into the city. One of the more recent additions is the Montana 1, a luxury condominium located at 345 East Colorado Boulevard, which features Anamosa limestone on its exterior facade. Full article

Connecting to the earth with limestone

Sitting on top of a retired limestone quarry site, the Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics at DePauw University in Greencastle, IN, is a unique structure and a true example of green building. Upon completion, the building was awarded Gold LEED certification by the U.S. Green Building Council, and the use of native Indiana limestone contributed to points earned to meet LEED standards.
