 St. Teresa of  Ávila  In the footsteps of  Day 1: oday, we begin our pilgrimage by departing the our local airport or Madrid. Overnight ight with dinner and breakast on board. Day 2: Afer landing in Madrid, we’re oto Ávila to the rst Carmelite Foundation, ounded by St. eresa in 1562 . Afer touring her museum, we’ll proceed to the C ave o St. John beore returning to Madrid or hotel check-in and dinner. Evening at leisure. Overnight Madrid Day 3: We travel to historic Burgos, where the last o St. eresa’s convents, the 17th Foundation, was completed in 1582. Te Convent is home to many relics o St . eresa as well as the Church o San Miguel. Next , we travel to Palencia visit the church o Nuestra Senora de la Calle in Palencia, the 14th Foundation, in 1580. We’ll tour the city and the Palencia Cathedral, a popular stop on the Way o St. James, the Church o San Martin de Fromista, and we’ll view the amous Castilla Canal while en route.  Afer lunch, we’ll travel to Valladoli d, where we will visit the 4th Foundation, established in 1568, and Alba de ormes, St. eresa’s 8th Foundation, established in 1571. It was here she died on October 4, 1582 and her barely corrupt, miraculously pierced heart rests in a reliquary and her ar m, also barely corrupt. W e nish the day at L a Santa Convent, inaugurated in 1636, it was built over the house she was born in. Dinner. Overnight Ávila Day 4: We bid arewell to Avila and travel to the Real Monasterio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial, the great monastery o King Felipe II. In its lavish library are thousands o rare manuscripts and ancient books. From there, we will proceed to Malagon, where Dona Luisa de Cerda convinced St. eresa to ound her 3rd Foundation in 1568. It is the only convent built new (the others were adapted homes), thereore it was directly designed by St. eresa. Following lunch, we travel to Villanueva de la J ara, home o the 13th Foundation, ounded in 1580, around the church o Santa Ana. Tere will be time to visit the tomb o Venerable Ana o San Augustin beore continuin g on to Caravaca de le Cruz, the site o St. eresa’ s 12th built in 1576. Dinner. Overnight Caravaca de la Cruz Day 4: oday we’ll visit the monastery o San Jose del Salvador, the 10th Foundation o St. eresa’s convents, ounded in February 1575. It houses many important relics o St. eresa, including  various liturgical ornaments o St. John o the Cross. Afer lunch, we’ll v isit the Chapel o Jesus Nazareno and the Calvary o Beas, where St. John o the Cross was Prior and composed “Te Spiritual Canticl e.   We then travel to Church o the Immaculate Conception in La Carolina. Tis was St. John o the Cross’s last home beore his death. We then journey to Ubeda, where we  visit the monastery he died in, which has been turned into a m useum devoted to his lie. Dinner. Overnight Granada Day 6: oda y, our journey starts with Malaga, located on the Costa del Sol. It is one o the world’ s oldest cities and the birthplace o Pablo Picasso. Here we will visit the Discalced Carmelite Convent, the Museum as well as the Church o Santos Martires and the amous Cathedral de la Encarnacion. Following dinner, we ’ll travel to Seville.  Overnight Seville Day 7: Tis morning, we’ll visit the Convent o San Jose (Las eresas), St. eresa’s 11th Foundation, established in May 1575. Te C onvent houses a considerable number o relics, including the original manuscr ipt o St. eresa’s book, “Interior Ca stle” , as well as the only portrait o the Saint painted while she was still alive. Following lunch we travel to the Portuguese city o Fátima, where we’ll join in the nightly candlelight procession in honor o Our Lady o Fátima. Dinner. Overnight Fátima Day 8: oday we’ll visit the shrine o Our Lady o Fátima and the Capelinha where our Blessed Mother appeared to the three seers. Our Spiritual Director will celebrate Mass or us in the Basilica. W e’ll walk together the W ay o the Cross which ta kes us through Aljustrel, V alinhos, and the Loca Do Cabeco. o night we’ll head to the shrine or the candlelight Rosary Procession. Dinner. Overnight Fátima Day 9: Depart Lisbon Airp ort to our ight back the United States.   2016

    Day 1: Today, we begin our pilgrimage by departing the our local airport for Madrid. Overnight flight with dinner and breakfast on board.

    Day 2: After landing in Madrid, were off to vila to the first Carmelite Foundation, founded by St. Teresa in 1562. After touring her museum, well proceed to the Cave of St. John before returning to Madrid for hotel check-in and dinner. Evening at leisure. Overnight Madrid
