Join us in October as we kick off our third annual Awareness Makes Cents campaign! Check out these exciting activities we have planned to promote early detection and raise funds for those locally impacted by breast cancer. Tuesday, October 1-31 – Piggy Bank Design Contest. Our employees have created colorful hand-painted piggy banks that will be shared on our social media pages throughout the month. Vote for your favorite either via our Facebook page or in the branch. All piggy banks will be available for sale during a silent auction on Friday, November 1 and proceeds from sales will be donated to Thanx Wig Bank, a local salon that provides wigs to those undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Follow us for details on the time of the auction and how you can bid.

Thursday, October 3 – The Lackawanna mobile mammography unit will be onsite at our Wyomissing branch, offering free mammograms to the public regardless of whether individuals have insurance coverage. Pre-registration is required. Appointments will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. To inquire or to set up an appointment, please fill out and submit the registration form on our website accessible via our promotions page.

On select days during the month, Riverfront volunteers will be visiting the chemotherapy unit at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center with flowers, handmade by staff, to spread some cheer to those undergoing treatment.

Donate – We’ll continue our annual tradition of having piggy banks at our branches so members can make donations that will be given to Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County (bcssberks.org), a local organization that provides assistance to those in our community undergoing cancer treatment.

Awareness Makes Cents T-Shirts – These stylish long-sleeve shirts will go fast! Sizes are limited, so get yours early before they’re all gone! Shirts are $20 each. Proceeds from the sales will be donated to Thanx

Wig Bank (thanxhair.com/studio-services), a local salon providing free wigs and make up services to those presently undergoing treatment.

Custom Instant Issue Awareness Makes Cents Debit Cards – This year’s Awareness Makes Cents design is available to feature on your card. So show your support and carry our campaign custom debit card. For each card purchased, a donation of $10 will be made to local breast cancer service organizations.

Paracord Bracelets – Riverfront branches will have a limited supply of gray and pink ribbon paracord bracelets available for purchase. Sale proceeds will be donated to local breast cancer service organizations.

Pamper Yourself Raffle Tickets – For $5, you can purchase a chance to win a gift card to the Hershey Spa, MAK Nail Bar or a free make up application with Shirley Bocanegra!
