FILM ABOUT IVANO-FRANKIVSK SISTER CITY PROJECT – TODAY

Chrystia Sonevytsky will host a film about the Arlington-Ivano-Frankivsk Sister City Project after the

11:30 a.m. Divine Liturgy today in the audio-visual classroom.

ANNUAL PRE-LENTEN COMMUNION BREAKFAST – SUNDAY, MARCH 6 LITURGY AT 10:30 A.M.

Our Annual Communion Breakfast (hosted by the parish) will be held on Sunday March 6. There will

be only one Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. Please plan to join us as the Shroud of Turin (9th official replica)

Exposition begins. Archpriest Danylo Troyan, the Director of Evangelization, will be our guest homilist, and

Archbishop Stefan Soroka will be our guest speaker at the breakfast. Tickets will be available at the door.

Adults $12 and parish youth (18 and under) $2. We will also celebrate Archbishop Stefan’s 10th Anniversary as

our Metropolitan and Archbishop of Philadelphia.

ARCHBISHOP STEFAN SOROKA PARISH VISITATION – CARD SHOWER

As was announced above, Archbishop Stefan will be with us on Sunday, March 6. This will be an

opportunity for us to thank him for the great support he has shown for our Shrine Parish. Please join in the

celebration of his 10th Anniversary by giving him a congratulatory card showing our love and respect for him as

our Archbishop. We hope he will need a big bag to take home all of the cards!

We will be starting our remembrances of the dead on Saturday, March 12, with Divine Liturgy at 12:15

p.m. Please take the time to remember your deceased family members. They hope for our prayers; and in turn

they pray for us. The sorokousty envelope is in the current set of envelopes. These remembrances will continue

on the Saturdays of the Great Fast.

With the New Year moving along, we would like to update our Prayer List. If you have someone to

add, please let Fr. Robert or Fr. Wasyl know. Also, if there is someone from our parish who needs to be visited

by the priests, please let Fr, Wasyl or Fr. Robert know. These visits are for those who are sick or who are

unable to come to church because of being elderly and unable to travel or who are unable to leave the house.

Our Speakers: Dr. Zenia Chernyk

A nephrologist in private practice, Dr. Chernyk is a dedicated humanitarian and activ-

ist for the healthcare needs of children. As chairperson of the Ukrainian Federation

of America, her focus is on children who need specialized medical treatment. She

works tirelessly to improve healthcare in Ukraine in rural practice clinics and through

preventive medicine.

Christine Hayda

As wife and mother of four, Christine holds a Master’s degree in Organization

Development from Loyola University of Chicago. Her work with the Catho-

lic community has included chairing eparchial conferences, serving as General

Secretary for Encounter of Eastern Churches, facilitating retreats for eparchial

clergy and parish councils, and workshop facilitation with financial and educa-

tional institutions and faith based communities. Christine is currently com-

pleting a second Master’s degree, on identity crisis in women.

Lada Pastushak

Armed with a Master’s degree in Foreign Relations, Lada is an up and coming busi-

ness and community leader. Presently program director at an international business

council composed of over 100 major American companies that do business in

Ukraine, she also finds time to be active in her community through programs in the

arts and education.
