In 2013, Medline established a new Product Division exclusively focused on developing advanced reconstructive foot & ankle implant systems and orthobiologic solutions to address complex, unmet needs of an underserved specialty surgeon community.
COMPANY HISTORY.• In 1910, A.L. Mills started Northwest
Garment Factory in Chicago, making butcher aprons for the meat packing industry.
• In 1912, the company begins manufacturing hospital garments including nurses uniforms and surgical gowns, and the company is named Mills Hospital Supply. A.L.’s son, Irving Mills, takes over in 1924.
• Irving’s sons, Jon and Jim Mills, take over the family business as President and CEO in 1966, and name the company Medline Industries.
• Andy and Charlie Mills take over as President and CEO in 1997. Today, Medline is the largest privately‐held manufacturer and distributor of healthcare products, with more than 350,000 products sold in more than 90 countries across the world.
